A Sisters Plea For Acceptance

I'm not sure what you think of me
I'm not sure that you know
You tried to make me out to be
In your perfect little row

I'm not the type of person
who conforms with all the rest
Rest assure that when I'm done
My life will be proven blessed

Do you care to understand
The things that I enjoy?
Or would you rather reprimand
All the fun that I employ

I cannot make you love me
I do not have that power
though I long to have you see
I am an amazing flower

I thrive in the hottest sunlight
I soar in the coldest snow
In the rain I take to flight
In the wind I continue to glow

My lifes not on a timeline
I have no stoneset plans
But your blood is as mine
So please love me for who I am.

How I Met My Husband

Out for a night of fun
Just the girls and I
The evening'd just begun
When they pointed out this guy

"I'm going for him" one blurted out
and introductions did occur
But there wasn't any doubt
He wasn't into her

She tried to gain his interest
To show her interest too
She really tried her best
A relationship to pursue

I had tried to be there
to lend a helping hand
But I couldn't break his stare
now this I hadn't planned

Soon he stood beside me
We just seemed to click
this girl she was not happy
That her he did not pick

The time was growing near
We had to say goodbye
but it was quite clear
again I'd see this guy

This guy and I, we dated
Together we had fun
This, that girl, she hated
She wanted to be the one

I didn't think much of it
Didn't expect it to go far
Even though we fit
I met him at a bar

But to my delight
love between us spread
End she thought we might
But marry we did instead

Love, Then and Now

Tears flow down my cheek
Sadness lies ahead
Why am I so weak?
I live, though my heart is dead

Passive in a corner I wait
To be happy again
depends upon him, his state
My own I've never been

Timid near him I lie
How I got here, who knows
troubled by guy after guy
Wondering if my pain shows

Mustering will, I'm on my own
Lonliness kills me more
Not happy with him, depressed alone
Broken wings cannot soar

Finding strength, and settle in
Embrace who I am to be
Look up towards the sky, I grin
I'm finally free to be me

Love, who needs it, I'll get by
It only hurt anyway
Love it's just a bag of lies
It only leads you astray

Happiness, hooray, My heart it lives
Then enters another guy
A foghorn warning my mind it gives
Don't falter to anothers lies

Falter I did not, kept him at bay
Though he proved to be quite geniune
In such a short time, my heart swept away
My love he did win

Love, yeah I need it
It completes me through and through
When trouble forms I sit
and Thank God, I can count on you

You the one who saved me
From dieing in despair
You the one who loved me
And proved that people care

Thank you for your passion
and your love that has no end
All my pain is finally done
Wiped away by my husband.

A Letter To My Daughter

Ranee, you are an answer
To a long heartfelt prayer
When in my womb you stir
Your life I am aware

I promise to always love you
And teach you right from wrong
I promise to always see your view
And give advice to make you strong

Ranee, you are a dream come true
Joyful tears did flow
The very instant I knew
Inside me you did grow

I wish for you happiness
And pray that you find love
I wish for you success
In everything thereof

Ranee, my first born Baby
You bring me much delight
Know you can count on me
Forever each day and night

My hope is that you soar
In everything you try
That all your heart you pour
And your best you always apply

Ranee, I promise to support you
No matter what you choose
Just promise me that You stay true
To all your dreams and views

Love,
Mommy

We All Doubt Sometimes

Faith is a tricky word
It's sometimes hard to keep
wondering if our prayers are heard
If he guards us while we sleep

Faith can be uplifting
It can help us through the day
In our hearts faith will sing
and show us the lighted way

Faith it isn't easy
To constantly believe
We cannot always see
When life would have us grieve

Faith will never perish
It comes in many forms
It's something we should cherish
Faith calms the biggest storms

Child Dreamer

When I was young I would dream
I'd dream that I was famous
I'd dream of my first kiss
I'd dream to be a star
I'd dream to travel far
I'd dream with no convictions
I'd dream with no restrictions
I'd dream of the greatest fun
I'd dream that to skip and run
When I was young I would dream
I'd dream of all great things beyond
I'd dream I had a magic wand
Now that I'm older I want to scream
That all these dreams aren't dead
Reach inside and look ahead
Dreams aren't just for children
and dreams they will come true
so look into your hearts, deep within
and dream as children do

Hope

When in life you find your sad
Give hope a chance
When things go wrong and make you mad
Hope will have you dance

When in life your faced with fear
Let hope settle in
When your heart is breaking, and no ones near
Hope will make you grin

When in life you can't see daylight
Ask hope to show the way
When the day is chaotic, no end in sight
Hope makes it o-kay

When in life you feel rejected
look hope in the eye
When you can't look forward, soul is dead
Hope won't let you die

When life is wicked and unforgiving
Seek hope and you will find
When you can't think of a song to sing
Hope will always be kind

Hold on to hope, and let it soar
Don't let life corner you
Hope can open many doors
But hope depends on you

You have to let hope in your life
Be open to possibilities
Hope keeps you going in times of strife
Explore the hopeful seas.

This Is Who I Am

I cannot live a life of caution
I was born with wings to fly
The play it safe life you're happy in
I would surely die

Die in spirit I can't allow
So take to flight I must
Here I go watch me now
Where fate takes me I will trust

Trust that no matter where I land
I'll have alot to give
Tall and proud I'll always stand
Knowing I choose to live

Live a life thats free to choose
to walk a more dangerous route
Do not worry, I cannot loose
Chance is what lifes about

About a moment, a time, or place
two ways our time is spent
disapproving of the risk takers race
Or making each day an amazing event

War

Do you hear the troubled cries at night
Or know the reasons why we fight

Do you see them lying over there
in the dark, cold, and damp night air

Do you hear thier pleas for mercies hand
Or see the death each place they stand

Do you see the suffering in thier eyes
from the painful, deafening, dieing cries

Do you hear the crackling of thier guns
Or sympathize with the innocent ones

Do you see the children ripped away
Or the parent who happened to die that day

Do you see the child turned to man
To honor the country for which he stands

Do you see the horror in thier eyes
From knowing odd's are, they will die

Do you see the depression that lies in wait
Should they survive this evil state

Faith

It is believing
that great things will come
your pain will be uplifted
your suffering will be done

It is not a moment
you cannot take a dose
it has to be forever
to him you must get close

Sometimes it can be weakened
by worry or doubt
it's strength lives in you
only you can bring it out

It's power is amazing
it swallows you whole
it changes your life
if you give it control

it can't be touched or tasted
but it can be seen quite clear
just look into my eyes
and see faith in every tear
