Serene & Divine

Inside the forest of tall teak trees
Far from the clamor of the town.
At the foot of the green mountain
Where a stream was flowing down.

Sitting on a piece of rock,
And looking at the flow of water.
I was listening to its music,
Enjoying the beauty of the nature.

The serenity and silence was lost
As some kids of a school picnic party,
Sneaked into the stream in sheer delight
And made it muddy and dirty.

A boy pushed the baby from behind.
She got wet and cried.
He then asked her out of fear
“How could it be dried?”

The headmistress when shouted at them
They looked each other for a while.
And rushed out of the water
Hand in hand, exchanging a silly smile.

I looked back at the stream.
The water was already calm and clean.
It’d washed off the dirt out of her heart
For the flow was serene and divine.

Measurement of Life

Life is measured not by the outer wealth
Acquired and aggrandized,
But by the inner health and wealth –
The values and virtues of life
Cultured and cultivated.

Life is measured not by the names and fames
Earned and attained,
But by the humour and humility in life
Adored and adorned.

Life is measured not by the power and prestige
Gained and gathered,
But by the peace and poise in life
Nourished and nurtured.

Life is measured not by the length and breadth
Covered and coveted,
But by the depth of understanding
The realities of life
Lived and loved.

The Whisper of the Flower

The flower extends an open invitation
To share her awesome beauty
And offer thy prayer and devotion
At the feet of the deity.

She blesses you with best wishes
To excel in life in varied role
And greets you with good wishes
When you reach at your goal.

She bestows your love and honour
Upon your dear when you receive
And pays your homage to revere
The heroes when they leave.

Have you ever heard the whisper
Of the well known well-wisher,
When she offers your prayer -
To flower like a fragrant flower,

When she greets and blesses you
Pays your homage and honour –
To offer Him whatever you do
Renouncing the sense of ‘Doer’.

My Master

My master awakes me from ignorance
Enlightening the life with light of knowledge.
As at the dawn the sun from deep sleep
With renewed conviction and courage.

He lifts me up every time I fall
While walking along the path of truth.
As the mother stands by her baby
When he learns to walk on the earth.

He protects me from the heat of sorrows
When I sit under the shadow of his lore.
Just as the road side old banyan tree
To the pedestrians in sunny summer.

His face is an ever blooming flower
Whose fragrance spreads far and wide
And attracts billions of unknown bees
To take them home giving a honey ride.

He is my source of inspiration
To act and achieve, reach and realize,
To give and serve and lit and light.
I bow down and bound to oblige.
