A Perfect Size Me

I am no fashion model and that’s for sure
I need to do a lot of work to be a Size 4
Feeling pretty and petite is for what I strive
But I am far from being a Size 5
Eating yogurt, salad, celery and carrot sticks
I will never in my lifetime be a Size 6
Always feeling down and praying to god in heaven
Asking him why have I never been a Size 7
Constantly downing myself and questioning my fate
Why don’t I stand tall and have a figure to fit a Size 8
Restrictions, diets, sugar substitutes, everything in moderation just give it time
All the while killing myself trying to be a Size 9
Buying butt lifters and waist trainers trying to fit in
Lord knows it’s a lot of work trying to be a Size 10
Never been a Size 11 or 12 although I could fit a 13 comfortably at one point in time
But having my four babies helped me jump past a 14 into Size 15/16 depressing but I’ll be fine
Then it hit me I finally see
God made me this way because I am a PERFECT SIZE ME

Eyes of the Beholder

BEAUTY thou only skin deep can bring out the ugly in you
Don’t lie about who you are and the foul things that you do.

Face beat with make up to cover your insecurity
While all along not knowing it’s your attitude that makes you ugly

Under the lace front wigs, weave and make up you are still you
Wanting to be a grown woman but still living with your mom, what are you still age 2?

Butt pads and padded bras misrepresenting someone that you’re not
Lying and misleading men making them think you got things that you ain’t really got

Who wants a relationship built on lies that just makes no sense?
For when that relationship goes bad it’s your partner you will resent.

How you get them is how you lose them didn’t your momma tell you so
For this is one of first thing that I learned a long time ago

Grow Up be a real women, hold your head high and arch your shoulders
Cause beauty my friend is only in the eyes of the beholder.

It Was You

It was you that made me feel this way, with your promises and your lies
And then when your promises weren't kept tears overflowed my eyes
It was you that made me question my beauty and my grace
Because I caught you fishing for another to take my place
It was you that aided in killing my self-esteem
Wondering what you could possibly see in her that you didn’t see in me
Was I too fat, or maybe not PHAT ENOUGH,
Was it because I didn’t have time to get a pedicure and my feet begin to look to rough
Was it because there isn’t enough hours in a day
For me to work, be a mom and still have time to beautify myself in every way
Is this body that carried your baby for 9 months not what you seek anymore?
So Instead you went on social media in search of a half-naked whore
How did you lose interest and not even let me know
The things I needed to do for our relationship to grow
I thought I had given you every part of me, my mind, body and soul
And yet you turned around, picked someone else and gave her the wifey role
Communication is the key but it seems you changed to lock
Here I am bragging on social media about a man that I aint even got
Without any formal notice how was I to know
That you thought the grass was green on the other side cause never gave our grass time to grow
Be careful and don’t let love blind you like it did me
You will find that the grass was only greener over there cause never saw the bullshit behind that tree
What comes around goes around is what you need to remember
So fall back and don’t crawl back when that lovely green grass dies and the weather gets cold in December.

I Surrender

Why am I always the one to be left in the cold?
The one feeling dumb when you’re exposed because of the lies that you told.
You say you didn't do anything and that’s it only entertainment
And that I am tripping because they are a million miles across the continent
Well let’s define cheating because it seems you don’t understand
Deleting texts, and sexting on fake Facebook pages doesn't make you a man
Telling outsiders things that you don’t even tell me
As I understood a relationship consisted of 2 people not 3
But that’s cool I understand it was just hard for you to say
That you didn't want me just didn't want anyone else to have me because you are selfish that way
So here I go making a decision that you couldn't make on your own so I have to make it for you
I am being the bigger person so I am letting you go so you can do you
Maybe she will believe your deceit and your lies
Because she will be naive when the truth is seen with her own eyes
Maybe she will love and give you everything that you need
Hopefully you will treat her better than me and not allow her heart to bleed
I give up, I am waving the white flag, I admit defeat
Cause fighting for your love is so tiring I can no longer compete.
I fought long and hard, giving it my all through thick and through thin
But now I have to end this so I can give my heart time to mend
The thing that hurts worse is that I have a little person that looks just like you
And I will have to see your face every day even when I don’t want to
I loved you but I can no longer do this because I love myself more
So though it hurts like hell on this chapter of my life I must now close the door
