Shimmering city
below me; stars above me;
and you beside me

Ranza Trumper Poem
without my voice i
cannot sing, without my heart
i can only breathe
the sparrow waits in
silence, the clock holds its chime
voice and heart wander

Ranza Trumper Poem
We are Elise.
We are uncountable.
With no way to break open our locks
They designed sweet melodies as keys
And conquered countries in our name.
We are the loved and easily forgotten.
They came to us with bouquets of rose,
Like the Queens, we sat cold yet joyous
As they placed sweet nothings by our feet
And we were heartbroken when they abandoned us.
We are the noontime shadows.
The sun is so bright and the darkness so great
Hurricanes rage inside and tear us apart
But we dare not reveal the burdens we carry
For we are loved by them, in all their carelessness.
We are Elise.
Broken open and tossed aside.
Loved purely then left behind.
Unhappy but satisfied.
We are Elise, the greatest puppet ever made.

Ranza Trumper Poem
what does it mean to "scream"?
is it simply to raise your voice?
or is it something you do, not a sound you make?
It is not my nature. I won't raise my voice like that.
This is my "scream".
i'll put every ounce of my energy into my promise.
i won't ever give up! you can't make me!
even if i'm all alone, i'll fight until it's over.
there's an explosion in the sky.
god is dead! rejoice!
freed of your shackles of fairytales and blinded faith,
lead the way to a revolution!
This is my silent "scream".
My head held high, pride uncaged and diffidence slain.
as long as the chance exists, as long as there's hope
i'll keep chasing my dream
the day i made a promise to you was the day the cogs began to turn
the day when color suddenly burst into my life!
i know i won't emerge from the road unharmed
but, no matter what, i won't step out of the ring.

Ranza Trumper Poem
Even if the road ahead is difficult
Even if I have to give something up
Push forward
Unnoticed light accompaning us
What's your price? Abandon faith.
Will you give up? Abandon certainty
Navigating the godless twilight world
Full of indelible circumstances
Is it destiny or is it choice?
Pursued by senseless vanities and meaningless hatreds
Would you point the gun? Would you pull the trigger?
A bridge to no place.
Everyone always pastes on an unhappy face
Because..."I want it" "I need it" "I love you"
Do you love me? It hardly matters
Chasing a high-handed ideal
Guided by the stolen light
Are you blind or are you a fool
who needs someone to hold you tight?
The moment the road appeared the cogs began to turn
Illuminated by rusted light, nothing can be stopped!
There's no guidepost to my destination
The gun is empty! Everything is a selfish mirage
Stalked by seasons and the wailing of the broken clock
At the end, it will be...

Ranza Trumper Poem
The open wound that festers and burns
how long have I ignored it?
I spent all night praying
that this decay hadn't touched my core...
There is nothing between here and the sky
That rages as violently as our hidden hearts.
It doesn't matter how often we say "I love you",
those words only become sticks and stones
in a heart that vomits out hatred, annulling,
everything else, even now,
our prayer is trapped inside.
The huge void between here and the sky
swallows us whole, why is everything rotting
before our eyes? This heart holds too many secrets,
it's collapsing into itself, ripping itself apart and
the precious sentiments it holds inside.
Vomiting, rejecting, annulling -
Only the tombstone will be white.

Ranza Trumper Poem
come to me.
regard my web with disgust and wonder.
come to me and let me show you
how you will love that you hate
as long as i can spin a beautiful web.
how you mistake smallness with harmlessness.
how even you believe poison to be honey.
i play with those stuck in my web.
don't touch it, you don't understand how fragile it is.
stay faraway from me and send your love from there.
stay there, don't come any closer, stay faraway, away from me.
you'll break everything i've worked so hard to build.
you will break my body without heistation.
never forget the poison i carry.
ah, but i never meant to hurt you.
ah, i meant no harm, forgive me.
you tried to catch me in your net.
but i am not your butterfly.
hurry, leave this place before the poison spreads.
and stop your crying.
you won't die.

Ranza Trumper Poem
Everyday the kindest gentleman comes to my door
And asks me to join him.
"No," I would always respond, "now is no the time, sir"
And he would leave sadly, only to return on the 'morrow.
Today is different, for today, a happiness devours me.
And he came knocking, and without a word
I put on my coat and we ventured together.
Unfamiliar warmth follows me,
as we walk, facing straight ahead,
towards our promises, song echoing deep in my heart.
He's so kind as I write this,
and he asks if I would like to love him
as he loves me.
I think I shall answer yes
and truly become the sunflower.

Ranza Trumper Poem
Two people under the cloudy skies
A new chapter is being written for them
Looking at them, I remember you
And am carried into the world of memories
Falling red leaves intertwine with pink blossoms
The stars that wishes are hanged upon
Glow dimly amidst an empty sky
Sparrows gather to survive
Canaries sing to pleasure
My faith in eternity is lessening
As I fall back in time
For example,
In the spring, tender feelings are born
And bloom all through the summer
By autumn, the passion is waning
When winter comes, the love is gone
Waiting to be swept away in a current of nostalgia
Dreams find their wings
And death will give them a sanctuary
...what about the restlessness that will never be calmed?
Two people together, holding back tears
Caught somewhere in-between weakness and pride
If it's so straight forward,
Why does it take so much to figure out?
For example,
First there is a serene rain
Then a burning sunshine
Slowly the moon will wax
Finally the snow

Ranza Trumper Poem
dear stranger
look at us, walking side-by-side like best friends
if i reached out and took your hand
would you play lover with me?
dear stranger
where are you from?
where are you going?
why are you here now?
i want you to tell me.
dear stranger
i wish i could talk to you
i can't find the words, i never can
but, dear stranger, i love you
i don't care if you've done something terrible.
i've done terrible things too.
i still love you
dear stranger
it is my vice, my fatal flaw
to always fall for strangers
the people who i've loved
wander in and out of my life
like shooting stars
like the wind
like summer storms
i still love you.
