Temper Your Typing

You sit
With an emotion at the ready.
                      An idea,
               For good or foul
                     Lingers.
You pick up pen and ready yourself,
Thinking of what you want to release.
            The opinion is within.
                  With passion,
You are obsessed to word what it is
That fires your spirit at the moment.
What you decide upon as clever
May soon be released to all.
The feelings about to be broadcast
Are to be provided through your authorship.
                  Before you begin
                    Think on this,
                      Will it be:
                A time to be proud?
           A moment of malevolence?
A period to graze the field of revenge
               For the right expression
             To instill the proper wound?
Or a plea to an unreciprocated affection?
Before you bring your ponderings to ink,
                     A bit of parental
                  And protective advice.
               Insurance for your future,
Offered from a caring fellow human.
                 Before the writing, think.
                            Are you
Ready for the world to consider
                        Your declaration?
                        It's been advised
By wiser people than thee and me,
                 "Never put anything in writing
That you wouldn't want to see
                    In tomorrow's newspaper
Or on everyone's data processing equipment."
What you are about to expose
Will be inhaled by each eye that reads it
                  And exhaled by each
                Spirit that interprets it.
          Freedom of speech is wonderful.
It gives you a chance to have
                    A will of your own.
          But freedom is not unconditional.
                 There are limitations.
                Only a certain amount
            Of the rope of independence
              Can be released to allow
One to have their own say.
When you set free your ideas
             You are responsible for
                    The results.
               Just make certain
                  The length of
          That rope of "your say",
                   Isn't such
          That it might eventually
                Dangle its author.

Six Things Satan Did To Get the Boot Out of the High Place

1. When Satan was an Angel:

He discovered fault finding easy in the Heavenly Society.

No reason to put forth an effort to improve,

    Just dis.

2. When the Sky-Boss wasn't around

He would slip memos to hes fellow workers,

    "There is no union,

Nothing to coordinate the wants of the Winged Servants.

3. He claimed the Heavenly Chorus sang off key:

And sounded like it was suffering

From a case of group herpes.

4. He reminded everyone:

    As often as possible,

That the Holy He created women as a lesser species,

:After all, Eve did come along as a side issue."

5. Wherever God asked,

    "Are you working?"

Mr. D. would always answer in the affirmative,

Gut, his task was too often centered on group diffusion.

6. The final straw in his disposition:

Occurred after he had constantly complained to the Almighty

That the thermostat was set too low,

"I can't stand the cold up here! Why don't you do something about it!:

Debt

When it comes to your happiness,
Debt is a terrible thing.
To owe and not be capable of paying
Creates a terrible heaviness in the heart.

It is wonderful to have the things you want,
But not at the expense of contracting
Excessive fear.
Being in debt is worse than artichokes o pizza.

Seeking Someone Special

If you are in the midst of seeking someone special,

Don't let that great thief of hope

"Discouragement",

Cause you to abandon your dream.

Discouragement can put blinders

On the seekers and cause them to

Carelessly grasp on to a relationship

That might have a worm in the middle.

Hope deferred can induce some people

To rely upon

Brief intimate encounters to satisfy

Their long standing loneliness.

The danger in this kind of hasty gratification is

The users become impatient and lose sight

Of the pleasures offered by

A time proven cloudless companionship.

Intolerance causes them to look for satisfaction

In any abrupt incident,

After which they rationalize,

"I won't count this time. This time was only for my need."

But, "this time", and all the others will count.

They count as surely as the calories

In a piece of chocolate cake

Tally up the sin of gain to someone on a strict diet.

Every lascivious encounter leaves a scar

In the cradle of the mind.

And, each can become as experience

Recalled with damaged pride.

Anything of an unnatural nature

That is repeated in excess

Is difficult to eliminate.

There is some for you!

Someday, somewhere, somebody will say something,

Or do something that will touch your emotions in a most positive way.

Be true to yourself.

Then, when you make the right connection

You will understand what it is to be grateful.

The Right Two

There is something wonderful about two people

who are mentally mated,

They will inspire one another

And put each other on their best behavior.

A human alone can be an uncultivated spirit

And only a fraction of what she or he

Is capable of becoming.

Many accomplished people have been aided by a good companion.

Together, the right two will double their joys and halve their sorrows.

And, hand in hand, they will go forward at a surprising pace.

As they do, they will discover the things they share

Are crafted to their enjoyment.

In this state, a difficulty can take on a new light

And become an opportunity

For one to stand heroically in the vision of the other.

And love grows by bounds!

If, through the years, they continue to be blessed

By the right mental reactions toward one another,

And to the circumstances they encounter,

They will enjoy a seasoned maturity and learn to laugh at life's inefficiencies.

When you relax and laugh, you eliminate tension

And stifle the toxic atmosphere around you.

Each of our species benefits from the right companion.

To love and be loyal to your love is a divine thing.

It is also natural.

A Lesson From Genesis

The Book of Genesis proves a value when

It shows us that man's problems

Come form his desire to know.

If the plant that bore the fruit

                        That caused the rift

                              In the garden

                          Was a tree possessing,

"The knowledge of good and evil,"

Then we have learned that knowing can be a dangerous thing.

However, the males of our tribe

                         Should be pretty grateful.

                          They can always recall

                           That it was the woman

Who introduced the fruit to the man.

Then again, men learn nothing alone.
