Poor Wealth

My smoking has spread cancer
All over me now
Still my strength's the answer
I'm not shutting down
Growing larger everyday
The rumour of my tumour
They need to cut it out
But I'm still in a good humour
Living each day
One at a time
You want to see me dead?
Well I guess I don't mind
Not blind to the detriment of my health
First you must be poor to appreciate wealth

Suffering Beauty

Tattooed scar of colourful ink
No patience for your fade
Diverting the truth of what they think
Diverting all your aid

When you first hid behind the mask
You were bothered by an itch
Like the time you got that eager urge
To pull out every stitch

Complimented on the pain
You suffered for your art
A cut so deep
Down in the flesh
You camouflage your heart

Underneath your radiance
You feel the real dull pain
But the scar that shows them who you are
Is beauty all the same

Pane

Sheltered from the pain outside
The walls that hold us in
A pane of glass as a reminder
Of our very sins

Children crying in the streets
Waste washed away by rain
The homeless folk we never greet
Lying in silent pain

Land that's scarred by roads we've tarred
Ugly electric pylons
Steaming vents misting up
The door steps that we cry on

Starvation, violence, emotional abuse
Love for money with no excuse
Scraping skies with devilish horns
The ozone layer that we've torn

But far into the distance
The birds chirp in the trees
Beauty flows right down the river
For free, for no fee

Venomous Victory

I've seen the snakes pierce eyes into my mind
Now everyone slithers
Beneath what they shine
Kindness casts shadows
Curses cast light
Casting their skin
To merge with the night

The silence screams torturous torment throughout
A calming peace beneath when they shout
Laughter in every letter pronounced
Raking for light through every doubt

Then comes the sting of a scorpion
Piercing its tail through the past
Releasing a remedy
Revealing the enemy
With the dawn of daylight at last

Silent thoughts slipped through my eyes
Danced with the darkness
Lit up the skies
Revelled in star light
Raised the sun
Praised persistence
Dazed and fun

The path to a crash crawled up to my feet
Like the light of a light house
A dark Angel to greet
Delved into the dark
For dark was now day
Jagged rocks in light
Soft seas sent my way

Venom that leaked like tears out my wound
I squeezed past the pain
Of what I'd assumed

Tuned into reality
Mentality forgiven
Listened out for snakes
Silence
They'd all given in

Dusted myself down
Darted away into the sunset
Life's too short to waste away
Worrying about one regret

Robin

Called to you from down here
Had to hear your voice
Thanked you for the love you gave
Loved you for your choice

One sleepless night
Drawn to the stars
Fiery flight of glory
Red beauty of mars

Delicate and eased
Character so bright
We were very pleased
On one sleepless night

Passion in approach
You presence all so near
You swooped down from the star lit sky
And flew away with my fear

Climbing Depth

Gravity pulls the sun below the horizon
Dragged to depths of darkness
Shadows widespread screaming and attacking
Compressing me to depressed

Murky depths
Sniffs that tease light
Coughs echoing fears
In a pitch black night

Enclosed within my tears
They close in inch by inch
Fantasizing escape
I will not let them lynch

With one giant breath
I push with all my might
Lifting up the ocean
The sun is now in sight

Night that flips to day
Black that turns to blue
I'm black and blue but still
This feeling`s all so true

I stare straight at the sun
The weight becomes so light
Darkness now forbidden
A bright heavenly sight

Every prayer answered
I'm one with all that's known
Woe blessed with words of wisdom
True peace I have been shown

Battling blinding blotches
No scar can hold me down
I throw over the anchor
The grinding gears give sound

Little to my acknowledgment
I threw a spanner in my works
The cogs slip, slide and sliver
Something wicked this way lurks

Quick as a flash
Quite the opposite indeed
Buried in broken beliefs
Receding to the weed

With sheers I cut and trimmed
Heavy hacks with axe
Growing faster still
Immune to my attacks

I dug deep in the dirt
The spade my only aid
Revealing every root
The futile faults that fade

Unearthed to decompose
Enriching all the soil
The wind carrying sunflower seeds
Relieves me of my toil

Draining

As the rain bounces off the cold hard concrete
Such a dark and gloomy grey making the sun so discreet
Wet weather washing whether we like it or not
Praying for sun to come and dry the drizzle we fought
When it rains it pours and the thunder it roars
Short flashes of fury lighting up the indoors

A trickley tap tapping as the house cat is napping
Flapping her tail furiously at the thunder that's clapping
Tic turns to toc from the slow unyielding clock
As we talk of how time is taking two times the length to mock

From a long hollow gaze out the window we see
A beam of broken light breaking through the misery
A drop of the heart and hope is regained
A calming stillness as our worries are drained

My Fall

The sun doesn't love me no more
He comes round less each day
The way he hides away from me
Makes me not want to play

The darkness dims my heart
It tends to make me sad
I cant see why, I try to smile
But end up getting mad

The cold that creeps up to me
And shivers me with fear
I wrap up warm and tell myself
“It's just that time of year”

The stars in our one's absence
Gives me a little hope
A wondrous way to settle in
To a sight that helps me cope

A Grave Loss

The sins that summon the grave beneath
A sorrow that stares right at the wreath
Blossoming hope within our heart
To one day find a whole new start
The sky so blue yet full of you
The words once spoken also so true
A stirring boil down to loss
The price we pay is what we cost

Penny for your thoughts is what they cry
The response that all of us will one day die
With tears that drown the grave beneath
The understanding that we bequeath

Cycle

People come
People go
What goes around comes around
Some we love
So.e we know
Either we or they astound
Some stick by us
Some just leave us
Some above us
Some beneath us
We come together when times are tough
Or dissipate when things get rough
Stood by or stand by
Low or high
Give up or try
It's do or die
