Christopher Definis Poem
More
into the darkness we shall find peace;
into our lands so long ago....
we are now above everything else;
as a sermon waits for our presence below
hearing echoes and humming of creatures
so soft and discreet are the animals we love
the cretaceous periods at our door;
Now we must wait for one more
and waiting for us above in the midst of fog
is everything we wanted and more...
beneath all this we shall find ancient ruins
and some basic facts yet to be proven
you and I made it here once before
as we wait at the gate so calm and patient
At once we arrive together
feeling as light as a feather;
With both feet through heavens door;
As we walk in the light together;
Forevermore.

Christopher Definis Poem
A fallen soldier
Once I've worked so hard I couldn’t feel my hands
I did it man like putting up graffiti, planned.
And
Then drank till I couldn’t stand…
I was a warrior on a land where
If you were my enemy I would spray the damn clip, that's it.
A gun in my hand was nothing and I ran around like I was hovering...
The battlefield was a mess but I never let the stress get the best of me.
Similar to the graphics we see on TV such as in Saving Private Ryan...
Except it was blood, and it was the real thing.
I used to hang with my soldiers and taught them everything I knew.
I stayed with my canteen and the money I was making wasn’t green.
It was stained with real blood .
Yet this soldier really knew how to love.
I trained at boot camp so hard that I got postcards from different generals saying kid you’re something else and we’re ready for you to put a bullet through these cowards
Blended through with my camoflague so well,
People couldn’t compare with my living hell.
I had to learn to syph gas outta tanks because I couldn’t make it to the bank
My clothes were always clean on the battlefield; it was my gun that stank.
I was a marksman on a mission and made it far until one day I slipped into a fox hole
I was only looking out for a friend and in the end the only thing I couldn't do was make a bullet bend.

Christopher Definis Poem
Sometimes I just don’t know
I wonder if I will ever learn
One things for sure though dad
We will make a turn
Living in a world full of struggle
Feeling like I’m just awaiting trouble
And yet I continue to strive on...
Oh how I could land flat on the ground tomorrow
And feel no more pain or sorrow
But where would that bring me to?
Forget the heartache and pain to you…
Yet if I fail tonight then I couldn't be right
Is it clever to be like you? Only if you were my clue.
But man…I haven’t a clue why even smart people like Mozart died
Whose lives were short lived with experience
Buried in their graves young yet filled with different points and views
At which point could I no longer strive? I think into the depths I would dive
If I were only a success then what would we do?
Must I answer this question Or keep you second guessing?
The doubt whether I’ve made it through the particular things we do
Through the ring of fire and standing with you…
