Only If I Were Like You
Sometimes I just don’t know
I wonder if I will ever learn
One things for sure though dad
We will make a turn
Living in a world full of struggle
Feeling like I’m just awaiting trouble
And yet I continue to strive on...
Oh how I could land flat on the ground tomorrow
And feel no more pain or sorrow
But where would that bring me to?
Forget the heartache and pain to you…
Yet if I fail tonight then I couldn't be right
Is it clever to be like you? Only if you were my clue.
But man…I haven’t a clue why even smart people like Mozart died
Whose lives were short lived with experience
Buried in their graves young yet filled with different points and views
At which point could I no longer strive? I think into the depths I would dive
If I were only a success then what would we do?
Must I answer this question Or keep you second guessing?
The doubt whether I’ve made it through the particular things we do
Through the ring of fire and standing with you…
