Weekend

"I have sparklies in my eyes", says my daughter
I must agree for conversation fodder
You do have twinkles I can see
It's oh so nice when you are three
The grass is a perfect green for  tea
I think I need to be a bubbly three
I'll put sparkles on my eyes so free
You can have the boa pink
I'll take the blue without a stink
As long as we can take off shoes
We'll drink our tea and talk and snooze
We'll toss off all these business blues
we need to make those dark mud stews
we need to tickle your giggles glee
Because mine are harder to break free
The week is office wall confined
our product plans are so sublimed
But with a little tea and dance
Monday's mind will be like a lance
Cause it's in the weekend we find our sparklies
The wand, under the desk, to chase malarkies
The cup of tea so flowery and  fine
to celebrate this awesome design
Just one question is left at her behest
"Why is the weekend only two days rest?"

Summer Is Here

Summer is here you can tell be the light
it lingers so long into the edge of night
the crickets are loud
singing in the trees so proud
I hear them at night
as their song is just right
I hear the frogs to, that chirp almost like a bird
with a little rattle in his song, as his summer life stirred
Then the night owl "hooos" in
just to give the nights song a spin
He didn't want to be left out
so he gave us his little shout
could add a bit to this really great piece
got'ta be smooth, I tell my young niece
got'ta find the rhythm, and then the beat
got'ta chirp and chime in, then it’s so neat

Christmas Eve

Christmas eve

It wasn't quite a silent night
wrapping and bows had taken flight
the girls were stirring in their bed
cause egg nogg'ed parents had made their stead
They giggled and jostled through the packing
the presents under the tree were stacking
so, if you find a miss label or two
the cat deserved the skate board blue
the dog needed the harry potter
and lil' sis could use the collared trotter
Dad needed the pink sparkly dress
Mom loves the hunting knife from Hess
Big sis loves her cat nip ball
the family needed the toy barn stall
 so, practice your nicest sharing
love of course is in the pairing
the matching of the gift to you
is in the magic as nut meg flew

so, Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good night.
