My World

The sky is blue
Just like your soulful eyes.
And just like those eyes
The bright blue sky can
Fill my world with wondrous delights.

The sun is warm
Just like your lips on mine.
And just like those lips
The sun can warm my soul.

The flowers bloom
Just like my heart when
I think of you.
And just like the thought of you
The flowers brighten my day.

The world is a wondrous place
Just like my world with you.

Love Is

Love is my passion
Love is my creed
Love is my touchstone
Love is all that I need.

Without love there is no reason
for each new day, new year, new season.

From the day we are born
Till the day we depart
Love is there buried deep in our hearts.

So starting today, lets make a pact
That love will decide the way that we act.
Give love to your neighbors, brother and kin
And then maybe more love will start to come in.

I Saw God Today

I saw God today
In the face of a child.

I saw God today
In the bright blue sky.

I saw God today
In the face of a world-weary old man.

I saw God today.

But I don't think he saw me.

To Whom It Concerns

A Message To the United States Government

You can take away my right to freedom of speech
You can take away my right to pray in public
You can take away my citizenship
You can monitor my internet
You can keep track of the books I read
You can take my home, my car, the very clothes on my back...
But you WILL NOT take my God from me.

Even you don't have that much power.

Poor Joe

There once was a man named Joe
Who had the audacity to show

His face in a crowd
No, he wasn't to proud
Though some said
He should wear a shroud.

It's Turkey Time

Bow your head and pray
Today's Thanksgiving day.

Poor turkey felt the axe
Bet he's sorry he ever hatched.

Mashed potatoes, gravy, yams
Consume mass quantities (But never ham)

Eat real fast and clean your plate
Soon you'll have a tummy ache.

Belch and moan and pop your zipper
'Hey hon, where's the Alka Seltzer?'

What Kind of World

What kind of world
Are we living in
When a young man
Has a heart so full of
Hate and destruction
That he commits mass murder
By the age of twenty-three?

Has our world gone so sour that
There's nothing left but hate, greed,
Prejudice and suicide?

Is this what we're leaving our children
Doesn't anyone care anymore?

Maybe it's time to start looking at what's
On the outside, and start listening to what
People are trying to tell us.

There's far too many cries for help not being heard.

Christmas Haiku

Jojo loves to bake
All day cookies, pies, and cakes
What a tummy ache.

Haiku 1

Heaven speaks to me
Of children's smiles and laughter
We are not alone.

Haiku

My heart bled today
Because our love had ended
Just like a sunset.
