The Meaning of Life

One day, while walking in the park,
I met an old man sitting on a bench,
looking up at the blue sky.
I sat next to him. He looked at me
Like I was his son or a friend.

Why do you look at the sky? I asked.
 His wrinkles smiled.
The sky, he said, has been here
 since before I was born.
And the moon, and the clouds, and the stars
 are beautiful to me.

Then he looked at the huge tree on his right,
a bird sitting on the trunk, twittering.
 He listened merrily and happily
And he said...this bird is free
It jumps from trunk to trunk
It goes from land to land
 It eats food for free

I listened to his humble talk.
Stunned and enchanted by his story
 His simple truth ran
through the chapters of my life.

The truth is simple, he said.
No one can reject or forbid.
Life is to live without hate or greed
With others on this grand planet
 We live under one sky
We walk on the same sand
 We breathe the same air
 We eat the same food
We drink water from the same clouds
 We share the same feelings
 of passion and compassion.

Man! Come. Let us reason and reflect.
Life is a path to another life
We are walkers to another place.
We encounter many trials and tests.
Some we fail. Some we pass.
Step by step, we walk out our destiny.
Today or tomorrow, we will vanish,
 not remembered
 after one or two generations.
So, why not laugh and dance?

Seeds

Tall trees, standing high in the sky. I can't reach to their fruits, all I can do is to stretch my hands, open my mouth and sigh. They grow in one piece of land, one place and space, They receive the same irrigation, the same air and the same care...but they are different in height, size and shape. The fruit of one is different from the others in color, length and taste. They all come from dead seeds. Do dead seeds come back to life after death? Yes, they do and life resurrects again. Man come from sperms, dead sperms, then Man hand out the sperms to the woman to nourish them in her womb. And like the seeds in the womb of the earth, when they are ready, they spring out and life takes place again. The same phenomena happens to me, brothers and sisters. The same for human race. The same for every fish, animals and trees. Let us celebrate and enjoy our short time on this earth. We are just actors on this stage. Let each one of us does his or her part in harmony, love and peace. Storms pass. Conflicts pass. Wars pass. Only love that we as human beings embrace, will stay with us in every stage and case.

In the Name of Humanity

If I can look at all religions as one
Or I can follow the teachings of all
If I can preach for the unity of human souls
Or I can aim high to achieve that goal
I shall not live in vain

If I can stop killing in all lands
Or I can do my share to stop war
If I can love all human races
Or I can replace hatred with love and peace
I shall not live in vain

If I can feed one hungry soul
Or I can uplift sadness from one saddened heart
If I can bring two friends together after fight
Or I can forgive the one who stoned me with a stone
I shall not live in vain

If I can teach a human being a skill
Or I can make him live on his own
If I can rekindle a candle at night
Or I can guide a blind man to his door
I shall not live in vain

The Star

This beautiful angel is a star
Twinkling above me, I think she is near the sky
She radiates endless cheers and smiles
My soul is whole, part of it the sound of a guitar
I am whole, and my joy is infinite
In love with her in, out, and all
I think she carries the name of Lilies
Perfect dance and she can make me instantly fall
Love is a miracle and when it comes to her and me
The whole universe is just tiny and small

No Lie

Never lie
To a butterfly
If you do
You might die
Shame will haunt you
And you will continuously cry
Your life will end
And you won't be that guy
Truth speaks louder than lie
So be honest from the beginning
And your honesty, hard as it is
Will raise you up to the sky

She and I

A single flame settled
 In my fragile heart
 Tender like a flower
 Left no scars
 No hurt and no pain
 Only sweet, beautiful aim
 "Keep me forever, for life
 Engrave my only name."
 No shame
 No one can be blamed
 Then the breeze blew
 And things around us became
 Heaven,
 Paradise, and the angels
Sang a lovely song for us
The lyric said: "Your heart is safe
And your love is not a game
 You can claim her
And she can do the same.
 Your fragile heart will heal
And she will be your fame."
