Lost Child

I seem to have lost my way
through the forest
as I play.

Alone and cold,
with no place to go,
I cry myself to sleep.

As I shiver in fear,
I hear a voice;
you calling my name.

A bright light,
shining upon me;
I'm so glad to see.

I was lost,
but now I'm found.

The tears go away,
and a smile is here to stay.

~~This probably needs some work (I just now wrote it), and I don't know what it needs, what do you think?

Through a Child's Eyes

Through a child's eyes
the world is a magical place
full of color and wonder
and the curiosity to run and explore.

Through a child's eyes,
everything is equal
with no room for judgement or hate.
Every color, every race, every species,
It's all a beautiful thing.

Through a child's eyes
the world is a free place
to laugh and play
where pure innocence take over
and love is all we need.

Story of My Life

If you look into my eyes,
will you believe what you see?
There's a story inside,
that's about to unfold.

You'll need the key to unlock it,
I keep it in my heart.
You'll have to earn it,
but only by my trust.

If I begin to cry,
will you feel it in your soul?
Will you take it to the heart?

If I told you a secret,
will you care enough to listen?
Will you keep your share of silence?

If I told you I'm a living soul,
will you understand what I've said?
I'm a human being,
can you believe that?

Crazy Love

She looked at him with tear filled eyes
and said she couldn't take it anymore.
She said I'm sorry, but I have to go.
She walked out and left him alone.

Now he's scared, doesn't know where you are.
Didn't think you would go real far.

He's calling all over town
as he's driving all around.
How could this be?
Where can she be?

It's almost midnight
and he's worried to death.
Wondering if you're alright
he doesn't know
she booked a flight.

But now she's scared of being alone
she's so scared
she doesn't have her phone.
How could this be?
Will he come and save me?

Keep the Faith

He was workin' in the sunset
late one night
Nobody knows this,
but he cries inside
he hides his pain behind the mask of lies.

When he was 15,
he lost his dad
fighting in the war of Afghanistan.
Forced to get a job to support his family.

He's fighting so hard
just to breathe.
But a respiratory problem
won't stop him,
from loving his family.

And he prays for Earth
to understand,
We're put here for a purpose
let's do all we can.

His mother's workin' two jobs
With a baby at home
tryin' to earn a livin
to support her children.

And he prays forward
for heavens hand
to guide his way through life.

And he sings the words
for Afghanistan
to all the lives lost,
"You'll always be

in our hearts."

Don'T We Have a Heart

Why must we think
that we're the only living things
that have feelings,
and that have a soul?

Can't we hear the cry of a puppy,
when taken from it's mother?
can't we see the fear
In the eyes of a deer?

What about the cry of whales?
when we invade their only home?
Or a lobster,
being boiled alive
in extreme heat?

We continue to pray,
for our food,
for ourselves and for each other,
but what about the poor wildlife
that has to suffer
by our cold actions?

Let's Make a Better Place

Can someone tell me what's happening to us?
Can you tell me whats happening to this world we're living on?
Poison's filling the air
now I can't breathe.
Our children can't go to school
without being the next gunned victim

What's happening to us?
Can someone tell me,
I need to know.

What are we waiting for?
Can we put this to an end
before it happens again?
What are we waiting for?

Aren't you tired of hearing about it? (I am)
Are we just going to let it keep happening?

If you just stop and look behind you
Look what you have done to me?
Let's wipe the tears away.

If we turn this world around,
It would be a better place.
It's us against the world
we are the human race
let's make this a better place.

What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?

Let's make this a better place.

What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?

We are the human race.

What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?

Let's make this a better place.

The Pool of Emotions

Here I stand,
with my arms crossed over me,
I stare through the pool of tears -
at the reflection of my life.

I gather myself up
as I take a final breath.
I fall into the pool
of my own emotions.

I'm drenched in tears
that I have shed through the years,
I bring my head up to the surface,
to the start of a new beginning.

With the rays of the summer sun
shining it's positive light onto me,
and the birds flying above, singing
I always know everything will be ok.
Nobody stays in a swimming pool forever.

School 666

Watching the news
makes me want to cry
I read it in the paper
and I can't stop asking 'why?'

An innocent one that has to die
I feel the tears in my eyes.
A family with a broken heart
the world we know,
is falling apart.

~~My Heart goes out to all the families who were victims of school shootings. ?? We HAVE to end this! I don't want to hear of another victim!!
