A Beautiful Nightmare

I screamed your name in the night
Risen from my nightmare
You lingered in the darkness around me
Taking from me my chance for light

I tried to forget you, how i tried!
But you stayed with me, unwilling
You haunted my days with memories
So strong I died

I tasted you in the air, in life
I felt you on the breeze
I saw you in every face
And it cuts like a dull knife

How I hated the very mention of you
I wished for your death, for mine
Any escape from this existence
This pain you brought anew

Your presense haunted me
It haunts me still
You are the beast in the shadow
Thats still chasing me

Your touch was my ultimate pain
My one true pleasure
The memory of that passion
Drives me insane

Your lips were liquid fire
Your tongue molten lava
Their memory....my revulsion
And my one desire

Your eyes were sapphire lakes
And I was the wind on their surface
The love remembered there
Was too real to be fake

And now here I stand, pretend bold
Haunted by your love
The memory of your touch
And a fire that now grows cold.

I Remember It Was Said

I remember it was said
Long and long ago
That love is bitter for the heart
But sweet for the soul

That to have loved and lost
Is better than to have never loved at all
Well forget about the brokenhearted
And warn those yet to fall

It is not for the feinting heart
For love does not go untested
Better to avoid the disease
Than end up infested

First you'll ask for pleasure
And then excuse from pain
From all the broken memories
And tears that fall like rain

Love will seem a dream
Sweet felicity
Then will come the nighmare
And your deep desparity

So I give you this warning
From one friend to another
Live for the right now
And forget about forever

Tell Me You Love Me Too

I tried to write a poem for you today
But I didn’t know what to say…
Or write? Or scribble? Or jot down in rhyme?
I’ll try again tomorrow, maybe
If I can find a moment…or the time
I’ll try to write a love story, or maybe a love history
Whichever is more appropriate….or easy
I’ll say I love you and I miss you very much
And that I haven’t forgotten your kiss and smell
And feel, and taste, and touch
I’ll say you’re in my dreams every night
And in the morning, you are my light
And that I hate to tell you goodbye
That every time you walk away
I think I just might die
I’ll say you healed a broken heart
And conjured up a beat were none would start
I’ll say that you are passion and fire
	And romance and adventure
And lust, and hunger, and desire
I’ll say you’re everything to me
And without you, I wouldn’t be
That you are gasoline, I am the spark
And together we are a blaze
             That consumes the very dark
I’ll say that for me there is no other
And that there is no need to look further
Because the one made for me is you
That together we are perfection
Now tell me you love me, too.

She Is

And she's a force of nature
Unmade to be reborn
A butterfly wing
Tearing a fissure in the world

Letter To My Baby

So loved you came into my life
And I hoped you would stay
To hear all the important things
That I’ll never get to say
That you were mommy’s precious gift
And I loved you like no other
And I dreamt about the day
I could give you a sister or a brother
That while you were in my belly
I sang to you your own lullaby
And that I still haven’t found the voice
To tell you goodbye
That I wanted so badly
To hold you to my chest
And tell you God gave me you
Because I would love you the best
That sometimes I think about
What you would look like today
If fate had decided
That you would be born that day
That I wanted so badly to know
Your sweet baby smell
And I wanted to count each perfect
Little baby fingernail
I wanted to teach you to ride a bike
And how to bake a pie
How to love with all your heart
And to never cheat or lie
I wanted to read you a fairytale
Every single night
And tell you that God is the magic
That makes our souls take flight
I wanted to show you so many things
That a little kid should know
But now I’ll never even have the chance
To say I love you and hello
That even though you’re gone
You still mean the world to me
And that forever you’ll remain
My precious little baby.

How Was I To Know

How was I to know my love,
That your heart was the twin of mine?
That each of our souls danced
To the beat of a single rhyme?

How was I to know my dear,
That you already fell for me?
When you were sun kissed freckles
And I was just all knees?

How was I to know my heart,
That I was your moon?
That years ago a seed was planted,
With a potential for love to bloom?

How was I to know my only,
That I was waiting for you, too?
That all these broken roads I traveled,
Were just leading me straight to you?

How was I to know my one,
That you were to be my forever?
That we were already bound,
So tightly to one another?

How was I to know my own,
That I loved you, too?
That one day I would promise my heart,
So completely to you?

How was I to know my future,
That I would be here at this alter?
Giving you my hand in marriage
And a love that will never falter.

Bearing Fruit

It was not the want or the will
She lacked a simple reason
Seeds can bear fruit
But only in their season
Twas not hers

I Can Not Love You

I can not love you open and free

In the sunlight for all to see

Yet you are the carnation of sparks

 the fire lets loose

And I am the thirsty wood

caught in your noose

And I love you deep

Like the black of the crow

In secret between my shadow

And my soul

I love you with the heart that cries

And lets loose the moan of a thousand sighs

I love you because I know no other way than this

For Cupid's arrow my heart did kiss

I love you more than silver

more than diamonds or gold

or any gem the earth could hold

Yet i can not love you

but love you I do

So my heart stills and weeps

As you close your eyes and fall asleep

Need

In darkness lying I hear you
A whispered torment trying
To leave a permanent stain
On a heart and mind crying
Your face is haunting me
Swimming through dreams
Stalking in nightmares
Leaving pleasure and screams
Loving you has been the beginning
And end of everything me
My endless darkest pleasure
And my one true agony
I feel your kiss lingering
On my very soul
While lungs fight clinging
To the every breath you stole
Your touch was liquid fire
And oh how I smolder
In the warmth of your arms
Safe beneath your shoulder
You are my incubus
The demon seducing me
You are taking over
And I do not want to be free
I needed you today
Yesterday and tomorrow
For you are my happiness
And my greatest sorrow

I'Ll Forget

I’ll forget your name
And your face
I’ll forget your kiss
And your warm embrace
I’ll forget the love that we once knew
And give my heart space for someone new
I’ll forget our old love song
And remember the tears I cried all night long
I’ll forget how good it once felt
And remember the pain you cruelly dealt
I’ll forget the cute way you walk
And the way you used to talk
I’ll forget the sweet things you used to say
And remember how it hurt when you went away
I’ll forget your laugh; I’ll forget your grin
I’ll forget your sexy, strong chin
I’ll forget the way you held me tight
And remember that first lonely night
I’ll forget how time seemed to move so fast
And the love that was our future, now our past
I’ll forget you said you would leave me never
And remember that you’re gone forever.
