Anthony Whitacre Poem
Smoke and ash covers the sky.
Its day, yet it’s as dark a night
There’s wailing of children and women scream.
The mountain rumbles with Vulcan’s might.
Lava is the only light.
There’s no saving us.
Refuge won’t come.
Armageddon rains down from the heavens.
We feel a higher powers’ presence.
The great city of Pompeii will be buried soon.
We all must face our impending doom
as the screaming and wailing stops.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Dear Mom and Dad,
Your daughter died long ago.
I’m just sorry that I denied it for so long.
I am a boy.
What is confusing you?
I am a boy.
I don’t want to lose you.
You say you accept me, but you really don’t.
Dear Mom and Dad,
I know you love me a lot
I love you too but, a girl; I am not
Can you not see that I am in pain?
I am definitely a boy in the brain.
Dear Mom and Dad,
I am a guy.
I know it hurts you to say good-bye
But if you can’t call me your son, I’ll ask you to leave.
All I want to do is relieve,
This pain in my heart.
Please I don’t want to tear this family apart.

High in the dark clouds
A battle of Gods rage on.
Armageddon Reigns.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Put down the knife.
Put down the blade
If you keep doing that you’ll need first aid
Babe please don’t die tonight
You only have one life. So live it right.
Try to think this through
People do love you.
Honey, please don’t cry.
You don’t have to say goodbye.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Fire seems nice.
I’d welcome burning to death.
Because I’m so cold.
I hate ice.
Even as I take my final breath.
Only the bold,
Favor freezing to death
Over burning.
Alive.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Can you feel it clawing in the back of your mind?
It happens all the time.
Can you feel it in the back of your bones?
Can you feel it head to toe?
My demons are clawing their way to the surface.
The surface.
There’s nowhere to hide. Just wait and see,
The darkness inside of me.
I can feel them in my throat.
I can feel them in my bones.
They drag me down to the depths of hell
And lock me in a jail cell
I try to swim, instead I sink
I can’t even freaking think.
They’re going to rip me apart
Rip me apart.
Rip me apart.
My demons are clawing their way to the surface.
The surface.
Think of me at dawn,
In your dreams when I’m gone.
All I can do is sin,
So think of me then.
So drag me down, down, down,
Away from this, town, town, town,
Drag me down.
Drag me down.
So drag me down, down, down,
Away from this, town, town, town
So drag me.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
I’ve seen glimpses at heaven,
But I’ve seen more hell.
All those great people
And friends that fell.
I’ve seen too much pain
In this world to understand.
But we’ll get through this together.
Just take my hand.
I can’t help the fallen.
I can’t help the broken.
I have so many demons
And they all have just awoken.
I don’t want to fall this time.
Ohh. Ohh.
Ohh. Ohh.
When you feel pain,
Burden it on me.
Because I love you darling
Can’t you see?
Can you mend my broken heart?
Can you change my past into art?
Ohh. Ohh.
Ohh. Ohh.
I don’t want to fall this time.
If I do I will get up and climb.
Take my hand to see a brighter day.
squeeze it tight and let the pain fade away.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Lust filled night.
Using only candle light.
Gentle touch.
Caring hands.
As of now I have no plans.
Tangled up.
Skin on skin.
Nobody cares if this is sin.
For one night.
And one night only,
I will not be lonely.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Hide the sickness . Hide the sin.
Hide the pain deep within.
I fake a smile and close my eyes.
It’s all I can do not to cry.
I can’t hide my demons. I can’t hide the pain.
Everything I do is just in vain.
I close my eyes and find relief in sleep.
The nightmares soon will creep.
I wake up screaming and yelling.
What was it about? I’m not telling.

Anthony Whitacre Poem
Guys hurt too.
It’s not only women.
Guys hurt too.
Some things can’t be forgiven.
Guys hurt too.
We cut and we bleed.
Guys hurt too.
We cry and plead.
Guys hurt too.
We stumble and fall.
Guys hurt too.
Just like us all.
Guys hurt too.
Commit suicide every day.
Guys hurt too.
What more can I say?
