Dearest Child

Save a rose for your mother, dearest child
of mine; save one for me when I too die.
Know not a day can possibly go by
Without a thought of her: sweet and unbridled.
She’s forever free now, dearest child
of mine; you will be free when I too die.

Think on our love, ‘tis thine, from she and I,
Who bore your life for you, our dearest child.
You are the hope of your parents’ short lives;
You no longer need us, so: achieve, achieve!
Stand for yourself, live with your own two feet,
Explore, travel, learn, be someone who thrives,
Find the joy of life, it'll always be there, so: believe, believe!

Secret Admirer

: to the girl in my dreams :

it's like there's a switch in me
that flips so suddenly:
one second I'm looking, the next I'm loving
that cute little thing I just saw you do
and I'm hoping that you might pause-
look up, and realize you love me too

while you lie at night in bed
I will write the sweetest words you've ever read:
poetic praises, lavish endearments-
flowery words that fill you with peace;
I long to be the first to hear
three words you've not yet said.

bright stars can dim and sweet fruit can have scars;
but for each other: let's leave our hearts ajar
you can trust me and not hold back-
let's never forget the potential of tonight
we can open up, we don't have to waste time
tonight's the night you set my heart alight

the switch flips again, the fire burns
and the door closes like this letter:
with sincerity and a kiss ~

: from a secret admirer :

Too Much For One

You love with your heart
And you feel with your heart
Maybe that’s too much for one heart to do
Maybe that’s why I can’t love you

And I heard you so well
When you stood at my heart’s focal point
Where your words still resonate
And my hearts breaks
