Cold World

Cold World
  Blizzards pass, storms ensue,
  Snowy paths, guide my view.
Where roaring winds are in pursuit,
my heart is where hope is imbued.

Laying the bedding, in earth’s full view,
I hunker down, and slumber ensues.
Where hope is, I am in pursuit,
For this cruel world is in need of review.

Freedom

Freedom
Staring up, wondering why
Our freedom lost, in twilight’s eye.
Of how free the sky can be,
of how we may never come to be.

The Tempest

The tempest

Rising storms, the tempest rise
Facing foes, that have arrived.
Foes unseen in daylight’s rise.
Backs toward the sun we ride,
To realize steel has lost its might,
We flounder back, lost in our plight.

Hope

Hope
        Hope, the lack of fear,
        Travelling through desperate ears.
Ignited for those who are dear,
The heart is where hope is seared.

         Desperation, the lack of hope,
         Weakening us, making us weep.
But truth be told we are not weak,
For a sliver of hope can do the trick.
