Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
I was born
where did I come from
who do I look like, reflect
mom, dad, siblings
forgetting
that it is a small world with a big family
that I have inherited my skin, facial features
produced by the make up of an ancestor
who?
my grandmother
brown skin, beautiful, healthy
me
I resemble someone who is of great thought
contribution to the past
I have someone to fit in with, to bond, to listen
a mission
to carry the strength that a woman expresses like no other
to bring life of another, version of me
I can now see where I belong
as the rhythm of a beat, to seek
a woman who is pure, not new
but true, to the roots
like no other, except for...
my grandmother

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
Sshh...listen...nothing said the way we'll keep it
as a secret that has'nt been revealed
my lips are sealed
along with yours, pressed against mine
bodies collide closed eyes
I seem shy
adrenaline rush
wanting to touch and caress her physique
this feeling unique
It's my 1st kiss young innocence
how long is this new experience 5 seconds
no time in reality, life time my mentaliy
of thought so long I've sought
to make this move
what I'd try to do
talk smooth say the right thing
without meaning, lost patience
until I figured out
communication
non-verbal without words
only actions my reaction
speechless
realizing silence is golden

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
Coming down the court,
Shaking,Baking,Breaking,the press,
Set up the play of course,
I'll drop tha dime, just finish tha rest!
Step up in need, command your team,
I'm always working hard,
Tha #1 spot, if you know what I mean,
It's obvious, I'm a Guard!

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
I heard the wind
I saw the wind
I felt the wind
I smelt the wind
I touched the wind
I ate the wind
I slept with the wind
I dreamed of the wind
I caught the wind because the winds
are my dreams, my future, my heart

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
Together a chance,never romance
but I enhance, my enter strength
toward you to express
our mistakin interest,for eacother
the reflection of one another
not one of one a mirror but of a sender, recieving mail
from the hardships in jail to escape hell
in the mind
I am one of kind
to you im true
which makes one of two
me half of our whole
me reaching into you soul
my traits blow at a constant rate
to create an offspring great as a king or prince
in the eyes of the grown the suspence
he displays at his throne
exploring the unknown
searching for a path that sewn, knitted
as grandmas quilt neat well built
without any guilt or burden to carry
beautiful woman to marry
full of dreams and aspirations
experiencing the sensation, of being with a women
not of sex but of loven to place beans in the oven
to enjoy the meaning and express the upbringing of a being
thats part of three, showing unity
love a family tree
no she dont look like me but resembles a face, color of our past
history
as the cycle repeats itself
family expands a new book on the shelf
a new page or chapter full of life
once upon a time, the end
that begins a new life line

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
As I go
this sorrow
should not overshadow
the message that is sent for all to borrow
no goodbyes, only tommorrow
see you later
death leads to a better life
after
you have shed light, on others lives
look up to the skies
close your eyes
I am here
I am near
through memory and spiritually
physically
as you carry on my legacy

Demetrius Joyner-Wright Poem
I once knew who you
a new beautiful
style,smile,eyes
as we coinside
through the mind
the design, attraction
a new reaction
that I've felt
can't accept
not ready
the surprise,suspense, my consience
all aroused
a new sense
a nuisense
unexplainable,undefined
was you and new to me
I knew feeling
