Family Chain
I was born
where did I come from
who do I look like, reflect
mom, dad, siblings
forgetting
that it is a small world with a big family
that I have inherited my skin, facial features
produced by the make up of an ancestor
who?
my grandmother
brown skin, beautiful, healthy
me
I resemble someone who is of great thought
contribution to the past
I have someone to fit in with, to bond, to listen
a mission
to carry the strength that a woman expresses like no other
to bring life of another, version of me
I can now see where I belong
as the rhythm of a beat, to seek
a woman who is pure, not new
but true, to the roots
like no other, except for...
my grandmother
