Love Is Vain

Some will say, that I must be vain
To express in poems, such heartfelt pain
Of loves gone wrong, and broken hearts
Yet these words, so sad and blue
In each of us, we know are true
For all of us have loved and lost
And asked ourselves, is it worth the cost
To find true love and risk that pain
If I say yes, does that make me vain?

Essence of Love

Our eyes met, only for an instant
Yet something incredible had passed between us
It made us equal
More than a look, a shared moment
The exposing of each others souls
The conveyance of some unspoken bond had formed
More than thought
More vague than definable
The essence of love
The pureness of heart
Desire, loyalty, trust, sacrifice
It was all there hiding in our eyes at that moment
And we knew it was beyond mere words
A thing that had to be felt
And couldn’t be explained

More Than Words Can Say

There you were in the darkness
A reflection of my dream
My prayer-My passion-My angel, it seemed
Every poem that I write
You’re the person I’m believing
And my hearts on the mend
My life would be so empty
No need to ask why
Without your love and support
I could never get by
I think of you so often
Through each night and everyday
Just remember I love you
More than words can say.

Cold Rain

Younger daughter
The forgotten one
Left in the shadow
Of the fallen son
Older brother’s great sadness
He buries within
To deal with the madness
They don’t know where to begin
Our lives have changed forever
We were never the same
So much bitter sadness
Needing someone to blame
Yet hate changes nothing
Except the ones who hate
For in hatred’s own heart
A Demon will wait
So they push aside the sorrow
To start living again
Time heals all wounds
The only question is when
So now they turn to each other
To lessen the pain
Still all these years later
They can still feel the Cold Rain

October Pain

A day I hate to remember
Still a day we can never forget
The pain will haunt us forever
Filled with sorrow and empty regret
They were taken from us so very young
Their lives had only just begun
Our world changed forever
On that fatal day
All those painful feelings
We kept buried away
As our tears fell like rain drops
Till there were none left to cry
We looked to the heavens
With a single word “WHY?”
Over the years our faith to the test
The pain in our hearts
Can never rest
Until the day we see them
On the other side
Then suddenly I realize
Part of us
Already died

Dear Lisa

Hello Lisa,
I thought of you tonight
So I wrote to you a while
I need a friend who’ll listen
To my troubles and trial
You see my dearest Lisa
I can’t make it quite on my own
I need your love to guide me
So I’ll never be alone
I want to ask you dear Lisa
To keep our friendship safe and sound
Then we’ll always have each others love
To whatever fate we are bond

Sad Or Blue

I wrote this corny little poem
But I wrote it just for you
So you can always read it
Whenever you’re sad or blue
The words may sound a little silly
`Cuz baby I ain’t that smart
But you can always rest assure
They came from my loving heart
So keep this poem beside you
And whenever you’re sad or blue
All you do is read the words
And know
I LOVE YOU

A Fools Game

I was pulled to her - drawn by some unseen force - from the first time I saw her,
somehow I knew she would hurt me. But there is a crazy part of all of us - a
correlation between intentional pain and fascination - Sort of like playing with fire -
You know it will burn you - But somehow you can’t resist touching the flame…

That was always the best way I could describe my love for her. Part of me
ALWAYS knew she would hurt me - Still I couldn’t stop myself - There were times
I was so sure she loved me more than anyone she ever loved - And equally sure
at others she never loved me at all - CONSTANTLY torn between hope and
doubt - Playing a fools game - Believing I was the difference - That my love would
change the outcome - But like all games fools play - There was no way for me to
win.

Wretched Place

I wonder where I will go
When I leave this wretched place
What will I bring to the hell
I have lived
Never a smile upon my face
No one hears the moanfull cries
Or listens to the sad goodbyes
Of a man who’s dreams all die
At the hands of those he loved
But life and love are seldom fair
This is the cross that I must bare
When I’m gone who will care
When I look there’s no one there
Pain and sadness my only friend
Right to the bitter end
Never my broken heart to mend.

I'Ve Longed

I long to walk with you at night
And gaze at star filled skies
I long to hold you close to me
And look into your eyes
I long to kiss you lips so tender
And make love to you so sweet
I long to feel the fire between us
And taste the passion when we meet
I’ve longed to make this wish forever
And to share my dreams with you
Because if we dream together
Then all our dreams come true
