Remiss Is the Fool

Sinister in their ways do they try and escape

declaring their guile as an object ornate

Trudging ever nearer toward revelation's delight

blinded are they in passion's height

Evoking freedom's curse a duo becomes one

where will they run when one has become none

Rife are the ways in which judgement falls on their short sight

leaving with it grace's dimly fostered light

Careening into oblivion they look on with no fear

Evanescent is the hope of those unwilling to hear

Sacrificial is the altar they've come before kneeling

	reviling, despising, conniving, and stealing

Enamored with self pity the pain becomes clear

"forever by your side" they feign and jeer

Regard they give with a skip and a wink

to courtesy, civility, and care's missing link

Obdurately they succumb to no tyrannical rule

seeing God as a crutch and an Old Heavenly Fool

Marring their passion they confuse for a soul

they feast from the compassionate heart as though it were a bowl

Offal has spoken in character of their obsession

the pieces lay scattered, rotting with digression

Naivety is my home in which I pray for confession

oh Holy God, find in them a will broken at Your Son's Concession

Truly naive is my compassion in brokenness for those who look on with blind
eyes, and listen with deaf ears. God save us from the torment we invite and the
just rewards from the harvest of our lives.
