Yearning For You

If I know what you want
I would give it to you
How about the moon
A bandit I will become
Disguised as the wind
I will quickly steal it from the sky
And hand it to you
I don’t know what you want
I haven’t a single clue.

My heart you already have
Maybe I gave it too soon
Because all you did was take it
And break it in two
I tried to sew it together
But the cut was made too deep
Every time I think of you
Throbbing pain burst open
The wound I try to conceal

If you pour your love upon it
It will begin to heal
But all I can do for now
Is keep yearning for you

I close my eyes, I see you
You star in all my dreams
I will wave my magic wand
Puff!
Darn, you are still there
A handsome tattoo etched on my mind
What can I do next?
To make you disappear
To erase you from my life
I see you everywhere

The tears my eyes are shedding
Is nothing compared to the river
My waning heart is raining
My weeping heart is stained
With excruciating pain
If I was physically harmed
The doctor could patch me up
The yearn I feel for you
Few will understand

How did you reach in
So incredible deep
Each heart should come with a sign
“Fragile, easy to break
Handle with care!”
That could have saved me
Nights of sleepless tears
But for now I must suffer
Yearning for you

Crimpled Soul

My crimpled soul has found its place
As my spirit I release
Into tender hands so strong
What can go wrong
My body dent with grief
Beaten down like tin can, increase
With flavored salty grease
My mind abused with words confused
I give to God to stroke with love.

Memories

Like fossils deeply implanted
Molded forever in time
Seared with years of living
Piercing creeping thoughts
Tripping over feelings
No perfect gait outlined
Like silhouette on the mind.

Clad In Imagery

Suited in great attire
With superb shape and perfect form
When you see through
Naked emotion hidden in rhythm
It stirs the beating heart.

Dressed in sophisticated words
Sharp and bright
Clad in imagery and intelligent thoughts
Rhyming with good reasoning
Fitting tone and matching style.

When you begin to play with thoughts
Embedded in expensive fashion
There is a price to pay
Outfitted with costly devotion
Bringing tears to the eyes
And questions to the seeing mind.

As you peel away layers of metaphor
They come deep down to
A single body of thought
And a vivid image emerges
That is expressive and unique.

Before You Go

I know you have to go
But before you go
Hold me close
The way you used to
Just so.

I know you have to go
But how can I resist
I need another kiss
The way you used to
Just so.

I know you have to go
But before you go
Say you love me
The way you used to
Just so.

I know you have to go
But must you go
Just so?

Nostalgia

In days gone by when
Scented gardens beacon
Sweet roses’ smile with wild charm
And apples tease taste buds
Salivating optic glands
Kids joined hands in unity
With hungry hearts
Yearning with delightful glee
For things to come

Remembrance lends strength
To hope for future days
Of wild play and frolic
In new beginnings
Filled with promise
Of fruitful landscape
And pleasure roaming fields
Saturated with raindrop earth
Faithfully recycling life’s
Unpredictable twist
Everything must take its turn
To wait and watch
Fully baked and seasoned in time.

A glint of hope
And glimmer still
Peeps beyond the veil
Of unknown world
That parallels the
Here and now in
Subtle transition
Yet to come

Break Free

Self struggling with self trying hard to break free
Liquid mind on fire, every smothering day
When will freedom come to whisk me from myself
Need to find the exit, searching through the crevice of
Degenerating mind, seeing a waving portal
Smiling up at me, enticing me to enter
Gullible I went straight into the vacuum
Like a desert traveler, I plunge into a dancing
Stream my reflection I encounter,
Grinning up at me from the depth of mirage
Deception was the morbid face of Insanity

Sweet Reunion

Sweet anticipation of reunion
Bare emotions exposed
Passion vs. passion
Sweltering steaming hot
A tender kiss erupts

Soft music beckoning
The meeting of two souls
Silence speaks in volume
Echoing what is known

Candle lights appealing
Helping natural flow
Two hearts exploding
Dulling senses rise
Mimicking volcanic action
Ruptures in perpetual flow

Color Me Softly

Color me softly
With sweet fragrance of love
Make melody in my ears
Color me softly with your thoughts
Use your words to color me
Color me softly with your eyes
Plant your stare in mine.
Color me with a thousand kisses
Color me softly with your lips
Run your pointer down my cheek
Color me softly with your finger tips
Wake the edge of my obsession
Color me with the moist from your brow
Color me softly with your ocean of desire!
Like the reflection of the sky
Dancing in the sea on a clear day
Color me yours!
Then your rainbow I will forever be
Gleaming in colors of your love.

Deeper Higher Level

When my spirit is communing
On a deeper higher level
My feeble lips cannot form words
So angels often take them
Directly to the heart of God
He gift wrap them in mercy
Sends them back to me
In blankets of blissful blessing
Rippling in my life, renewing my mind
With cascading shades of rainbow
Until my voice returns with splendor
Giving back to Him what He has given me
Knowing He will soon return it
With ultimate crescendo
Of abundance of rain
