Journal

This is the place where dreams are spoken,
Where hopes are written,
And where maturity and self acceptance grow,
It is a map of my life on paper,
My accomplishments and my short comings,
My loves and losses,
My innocence lost and my coming of age found,
The person that I truly am inside,
And though the ink may fade,
And the paper may yellow,
The memories never will fade,
The experiences never tarnish,
And the lessons learned will never be forgotten,

My Room

This is my room,
My private place,
Where I can be me,
And have my own space,
I sometimes feel that I don't belong,
And as if everything I do is wrong,
So when i'm feeling sad or low,
My room is where is where I often go,
Because for the time i'm in my seclusion,
I can get the slight illusion,
Everything is o.k. and going to be fine,
And that is why this room is mine.

Just Friends

Everyday was one day closer,
To leaving you behind,
Burying your memories somewhere,
Deep inside my mind,
Then the dam broke,
Your memories came flooding back in,
And all with a simple telephone ring,
I heard your voice,
My hands started to shake,
And without another word,
I could feel my heart start to break,
It shatters and crumbles,
All over again,
Because I just remembered,
You only want to be friends.

Falling

Am I falling too hard,
Am I falling too fast,
Can this be true love that I've found at last,
Can you be the one that my heart's been waiting for,
Can you be the person to open the door,
The door to my heart that I've kept locked for so long,
This feeling's so true it just can't be wrong,
If it's not love what else can it be,
If your not the one than who's meant for me,
I've looked for so long and have been let down too much,
I want only you and you sweet loving touch,
I want to wake up every day of my life,
With you by my side and me as your wife,
Am I falling too hard,
Am I falling too fast,
Please tell me this is true love that I've found at last.

Let Go

Two words broke the thing I worked so hard to make,
Two hearts torn apart by the works of fate,
Nothing could save the relationship we had,
Believe me I tried,
I put on a smile,
And swallowed my pride,
Knowing how much it would hurt to let you go,
But at the same time knowing that eventually
my unhappiness would show,
I couldn't change the way you were,
Or all the things that had occurred,
With our relationship in the past,
I just avidly hoped we would last,
But I faced the facts and just let you go,
My heart is now broken,
With words left unspoken,
That you will never know.

A Poem For Dad

To the only man I ever loved who never broke my heart,
To the man who always believed in me right from the start,
For the first man I ever loved who gave me all he could,
To the man who always consoled me every time I cried,
But stood back and let me go and gave me wings to fly,
The man who taught me everything I should,
Know to go out and live my life,
And try to do my best,
I'm his little princess, he makes me think I'm better than the rest,
The only hope that I might have,
Is to find a man at least half as good as you,
Who works hard and gives everything he can,
I hope you know how much I love you dad,
Because you are what they call a good man.

Tiny

Tiny Little life that lived inside of me,
Tiny little eyes that the world you now will see,
Tiny little fingers that are amazed with every touch,
Tiny little person that I love so much,
Little tiny toes and little tiny feet,
Little tiny smile so innocent and sweet,
Little tiny person that soon will grow to be,
My little tiny man that one day i'll set free,
But for now you are my little boy and I will watch you grow,
And teach you things like to play and sing,
And i'll love you more than you'll ever know.

Remember Her Name

She looks at him and lets out a sigh,
You can see the heartbreak in her eyes,
This man she lives for and made her life,
The man who asked her to be his wife,
Now has trouble remembering her name,
The expression on his face always remains the same,
And he doesn't look at her with those same eyes anymore,
It's like he's a different man than before,
Now instead his eyes are filled with confusion,
As if this whole world is just one big illusion,
Familiar things he remembers no more,
He gives a vague look when she walks through the door,
She tells him over and over again,
That she is his wife, his lover, his friend,
It frustrates her and slowly breaks her heart,
To see this man she loves slowly falling apart,
She feels so helpless with nothing she can do,
With no way to stop what he's going through,
And everyday she prays and wishes in vein,
That he would just remember her name.

I Loved You Enough

I loved you enough to say you were right,
Whenever I was wrong when we had a fight,
I loved you enough to tell you to go,
So my broken heart for you would not ever show,
I loved you so much, I would have given the world,
If you would have just asked me to be your only girl,
But it seems pride always gets in the way,
When I was walking out you never asked me to stay.

No More

No more slow sweet kisses, No more holding me close,
No more do you miss me, No more feelings do you show,
No more just called to say I love you, The phone doesn't ring at all,
I don't know what went wrong, I don't know exactly when,
When did we lose us, When did we stop being friends,
Now I sit here all alone, Waiting up by the telephone,
I feel like I'm a stand-by, For everything you do,
Always something going on, So I sit here at home without you,
So don't be so surprised, When I have better things to do,
Or friends you don't know about, Freinds that give me what you can't,
Freinds who are there when you aren't,
Someone to love me the way you don't,
Someone to be with, the way I can't be with you,
Someone to talk to, Someone to listen,
Someone to care, Someone to love,
And someone I know will be there for me.
