Remember Her Name

She looks at him and lets out a sigh, You can see the heartbreak in her eyes, This man she lives for and made her life, The man who asked her to be his wife, Now has trouble remembering her name, The expression on his face always remains the same, And he doesn't look at her with those same eyes anymore, It's like he's a different man than before, Now instead his eyes are filled with confusion, As if this whole world is just one big illusion, Familiar things he remembers no more, He gives a vague look when she walks through the door, She tells him over and over again, That she is his wife, his lover, his friend, It frustrates her and slowly breaks her heart, To see this man she loves slowly falling apart, She feels so helpless with nothing she can do, With no way to stop what he's going through, And everyday she prays and wishes in vein, That he would just remember her name.
