Equal Opportunity

The price to have to pay;
The rules we have to follow;
It all sounds so cliche,
It’s all so hard to swallow.

Equal opportunity for all;
The untruth of society,
Now we are talking about a wall;
To cause all sorts of anxiety.

Rich man, poor man;
That is all it is about;
Is this the plan;
Equal opportunity, I do doubt.

The City That Never Sleeps

The noisy streets;
The homeless digging in the garbage bags;
The illegal drug dealers in the corner,
The homeless in rags.

The children in the streets;
Laughing and playing;
Pop, pop, it’s a shoot out.
That's what life is all about;
In the city that never sleeps.

The Unborn Child

It’s really dark and wet in here;
What are they giving me?
Is this beer?
Closing my eyes and lips,
I am hiding behind the hips;
Oh my, I see smoke,
Watch out I am going to choke.
Trying so hard to hide,
I open my eyes wide,
I hear somebody beginning to cry;
Is it a girl or is it a guy?
The crying makes me sad,
The smoke makes me mad,
The beer does not taste good,
This is a girl that I am hiding in,
Why is she committing such a sin?
She decides to give me life,
She might as well kill me with a knife.
I am not even born yet,
And already life is such a threat.
