Hard To Say Good-Bye

I remember your smile and that twinkle in your eye.
How I miss those talks at the table by your side.
The blessings you had were very many it’s true.
A husband by your side with four children too.
Wife, Mother, and Nanny were the names you took.
Sometimes you liked to sit and read a book.
Above all you were loved and they stood by your side.
Even on that darkest night when we all cried.
We know the love you have for someone never dies.
But sometimes when we think of you we still cry.
Because sometimes it’s hard to say Good-bye.

Summer Cooking

Summer Cooking
Its summer time you know what that means,
We move the grill out for all to see.
Stainless Steel shining in the sun,
Five burners! Yea that’s the one!
Then the family comes over and the heat is on
You’re thinking to yourself “this is not fun”
Sweat is pouring down and rolling in your eyes,
And the smoke rises up to the sky.
Burgers and hot dogs fly off the grill,
You think to yourself when will they be fill?
Summer cooking in the hot sun,
I can’t wait until winter comes.

Do I Love You

Do I love you what can I say,
I know it grows stronger each and every day.
If your're cold on a winter's night,
I will be there to hold you tight.
And if you're caught in a storm,
I will keep you safe and warm.
Gladly give up my life it's true,
with my last breath to protect you.
Do I love you, what can I say,
I do my love each and every day.

The Mast

I stand tall and proud upon this ship
Never have I wavered on any trip.
If you listen you will hear me in the wind,
speaking to you again and again.
Stories of a ragging sea,
while the fisherman worked below me.
Lightening and thunder clashed in the sky,
but I held firm against the tide.
Sometimes the sky was so blue,
and we would sail straight through.
Yes I am the Mast upon this vessel it’s true,
Sail with me and I will protect you.

Lighthouse

Lighthouse

Tall sentinel that stands guard,
you protect mariners from afar.
They have trusted you to guide their way,
while they work the sea for their pay.
The ocean rises as the storm grows near,
Their hearts are filled with fear.
Your light pierces the gloom of night,
as the winds of the storm howl with might.
Guiding them safely upon the sea,
returning them back home to family.
For years you have stood on the shore,
may you stand forevermore.
Tall sentinel over the sea,
may your light always guide me.

The Pew

I went to church today,
I began to stand as the music played.
My hands rested on the pew in front of me,
they moved across the wood so free.
How many people sat in this pew,
wondering what they would do.
Some smiled as a baby was blessed,
Others sat in distress.
Concerned of a sickness or problem in their life,
living day by day in strife.
Some sat in sorrow at a loved one lost,
praying for guidance at any cost.
Faith will keep you strong and he will guide the way.
As you sit in this pew to pray.

Soul Mates

When I first saw you with your eyes of blue,
I stumbled, I stuttered, I did not know what to do.
When you held my hand my heart would melt,
you always knew how I felt.
Holding you tight those many years,
sometimes I can't hold back the tears.
How happy we were in this life,
now my days are full of strife.
For we were soul mates my dear,
and one day again I will hold you near.

Sailors Ghost

How I long to see the sun and its morning light,
to warm my face from these long cold nights.
And hold you close and near,
to chase away all my fears.
But this my love I cannot do,
for my spirit walks along with you.
My ship hit the reef and sunk in the night,
my last thoughts were of holding you tight.
Until that day when we are united as one,
I will wait my love by the setting sun.

Miss You

The time moves so slowly now that we are apart,
each minute passes with a beat of my heart.
I long for the time that we spent together and wish those moments could last forever.
How I miss you and long for your touch,
your tender words and thoughtfulness that I loved so much.
As the sun sets and another day is done,
I know someday we will be as one.
So my love know this to be true,
only God knows how much I miss you.

The Weatherman

I think tomorrow will be a better day,
I heard the weatherman say.
But when I woke up there was rain,
I guess he was wrong again.
He looks over that map on the wall,
with lines and symbols that cover it all.
I wonder it it's really true,
that he looks out the window like me and you.
