Cycles

By noon, I am contemplating
In the evening, I will do.
Doing what must be done.
By days end I am through.

In night, I will surrender my mind.
I will fall into the precincts of death.
By morning, I am enlightened once more.
Once again, I am granted breath.

In spring, I will grow as a man.
Gathering fuel for what is to be
In summer, I burn with truth
Too bright for fools to see.

In fall, I gather once again.
Biding time for the winter storm.
Freezing the ignorant in the place
Then I sleep, waiting for new life to form.

When I am new, I disappear.
Sometimes this is the role to play.
I look slightly to see if I am needed.
No today is not the day.

I emerge more to show I care.
My hope is needed once more
I am there to pull you up.
On my life I swore.

Looking up to grab my hand.
Looking me full in the face.
Never forgotten, never worrying
Never losing your place.

You Wonder Why

You wonder why I have so much anger
But did you ever look at yourself
Did you ever think that it might be you?
After you have blamed everyone else
Our greatest moments were also the worst
In my heart, all I felt was pain
Did you only want to treat me good?
So that when I asked, why do you hurt me?
You didn’t have you explain
Did you really care about my needs?
Because it seemed like a moral obligation
So that when everything was all said and done
You left me without hesitation
In my pain, did you view me as weak?
Did you feel that you were better that me?
Were you happy in my distress?
Did I not give enough reciprocity?
How did I really make you feel?
Did you enjoy being in my presence.
I guess that question answers itself.
Because while I ask this, you’re not even present
You wonder why I am through with you
I admit I was blind but now I see.
The only person trying to hold things together
Was me.
You wonder why I don’t trust you.
The relationship we built was a lie
I did my all to be there for you
But for me you didn’t even try.

What Is Woman

Love is all I have to give.
Gentle describes my touch.
I will give you all that I have.
Though, I will never ask for much.

Peace is what I bring to your mind.
Hope is what I bring to your soul.
The words that I speak are poetic.
My words are worth more than gold.

God will bring us together.
Our bond will never be undone.
I will be there to help fight your battles;
Though the war may not have yet been won.

I have always been there for you.
Sometimes you let me pass you by.
I will still do all I can to make you happy.
I will console you when you need to cry.

You sometimes look me over.
Though, I will be who you turn to in the end.
I have come to this world in many forms.
I have been your mother, your sister, your friend.

So take this time to acknowledge me.
Give me the recognition I am due.
I am the embodiment of a woman.
A woman that has always been true.

Do not take my love for granted.
Do not toss me aside like a jacket that is worn.
Many of you have heard the saying;
“There is nothing like a woman scorned”.

My heart is a precious gift.
Do not give me pleasure, and then give me pain.
Do not disrespect my body.
Do not take my name in vain.

Please remember who I am.
Acknowledge who I will be in the end.
Know that someday with or without you.
I will be someone’s mother, sister or friend.

This Life I Walk

Starry eyed.

So mystified.

Life can seem so weary.

Clearer mind.

Out of time.

Hoping that he hears me.

Running mind.

No time to hide.

Intoxicated feeling.

Hidden truth.

Forever true.

Heart continually healing.

.

Youthful heart.

Lost in dark.

Feelings tend to sway.

Love to live.

Life is gift.

So many things to say.

Little one.

Not yet done.

Beauty has remained.

Always loved.

Reminded of…

So many things obtained.

Wanting more.

Out the door.

Now to chase the dream.

Angelic face.

Just a taste.

Life not what it seem.

Starry eyed.

Willing pride.

Oh…what a price to pay?

Battle won.

Shining sun.

Welcoming the new day.

Nothing More To Say.....

Do not cry my friend
Rest your weary head
Forget about all your tasks
Lay yourself to bed

Do not worry my friend
Gently rest you feet
Relax as though you a baby
Listening to a mother’s heartbeat

Do not stress my friend
Cast your burdens away
Enjoy the feeling of a new morning
Capture the opportunity of a new day.

Do not forget my friend
Love conquers all
Remember you must search for it
Never forget its call

Do not run away my friend
You will not face your trials alone
There is always someone standing beside you
You will never be on your own.

Do not despair my friend
Hope is renewed each day
Always will I be there for you
There is nothing more to say.

Some Many Times..........

So many times, you have put me down.
So many nights you have made me cry.
So many moments you have taken away my joy.
So many times, you have helped my dreams die.

So many times, you have caused me pain.
So many nights I have wanted to run away.
So many moments I was filled with hate.
So many times, my hope was thrown away.

So many times, I have felt alone.
So many nights it was you I wanted to be free of
So many moments I was left without a friend.
So many times, I just wanted to be loved.

At this time, I have turned my life around.
On this night, the pain you caused was thrown away.
At this moment, I don’t need your sympathy.
At this time, I sit and wait for a new day.

At this time, your words mean nothing to me.
On this night, I have forgotten about you.
At this moment, my dreams have been made a reality.
At this time, I only depend on myself to be true.

At this time, I know that I was loved.
On this night, I realize that all that happened was because of you.
At this moment, I know my importance.
At this time, there is still much for me to do.

You found your happiness in my pain.
But in my pain, I found my hope.
You found solace in my sorrow.
But in my sorrow, I learned how to cope.

Now you have nothing without my pain.
You do not have a reason to exist.
Now wallow in you own stupidity.
Then ponder about the person you have missed

At What Price

What shall a man profit if he gains the world?
And the desires of his heart he gets to behold.
Would one see this as a fair trade?
If in the process he loses his soul.

Could a price be placed on such a unique gift?
That came from the Lord himself.
Why would a man make such an ignorant choice?
When in the end he shall have nothing left.

The glamour of this world may cloud ones judgment
But should it come at the price of their soul.
Your soul may seem worthless while you’re alive.
But in the end you will find it is worth more than gold.

The treasures of this world may seem very tempting.
But where shall they get you in the end.
Yes, you may get all the fame and glory you desire.
But they have led to the folly of many men.

We should take each victory a day at a time
Due to all God has blessed us with.
But the choices of man will not yet be sublime.
Until we know God’s wrath is not a myth.

Free

I will not succumb to who you want me to be.
I will be like the eagle, agile and free.
I will sing my song of liberty.
I am who I am.
I am who I will be.

I will not fight when I am wrong.
I will not give in just to belong.
I will forever be strong.
I am who I am.
My heart will sing its song.

I will be wise, cunning, and clever.
I will speak my mind to whomever.
Sometime I may bite my tongue but however
I am who I am.
My soul will fight forever.

I will give respect when it is due.
I will be wise in all I do.
My word will never be those you misconstrue.
I am who I am.
My words will always be true.

Sometimes I may not be inclined to agree.
There is much in the world I have to see.
I will be like the eagle, agile and free.
I am who I am.
I am who I will be.

Life

Life

I live in a dangerous world, where nothing is what it seems.
I have seen the strongest men weep like children torn from their dreams.
I have seen the wisest of men falter in the path they have made for others.
I have seen unnecessary fighting among even the closest of brothers.

Hope is sought after but not found.
The only truths we know are lies.
Men destroy that which is sacred.
Children are left to hear their own cries.

Peace is giving way to extinction.
Love is being taken away.
Death has left her dark hiding place.
And innocent lives are lost each day.

Pain has become an epidemic.
Our days are giving in to dismay.
Man has lost his ability to think.
Man has lost his ability to pray.

But, violence will have its end someday.
One day it shall cease to be.
Men will think with their heart.
And hope shall be set free.

Life will destroy the pain of death.
Love will conquer the confines of fear.
All of our days will end with hope.
We will be reunited with those we hold dear.

Hate will taste the bitterness of defeat.
Souls shall inhale the breath of life.
Ignorance will be slain by knowledge.
There will no such word as strife.

In the depths of our soul we know this day will come.
We hope that this is what world will someday be.
But until that day finally comes, this is what I will see

I will see a dangerous world, where nothing is what it seems.
I will see the strongest men weep like children torn from their dreams.
I will see the wisest of men falter in the path they made for others.
I will see unnecessary fighting among even the closest of brothers.

If Only

Why worry about a world,
In which you will never be perceived.
Dwelling on intangible dreams
That will never be conceived.
Never given an option,
Just going with the flow.
Hoping that you will be happy ,
Wherever life bids you to go.
Never really having a place to belong
Existing as an object of pity.
Never feeling like you’re good enough
No matter how smart or witty.
How should one cope with things?
Life is so hard and unfair.
Left alone to sit and ponder
The reasons why you still care.
Times will continually pass,
But you will stay a slave of your own mind.
Giving up hope of escaping its confinements.
Accepting the roles you are assigned.
Forever hoping your days will brighten.
Maybe tomorrow will be that day.
A time when you can finally rest
And throw your constraints away.
If only it were today.
If only.
