Trust Issues

At times it feels like the world is out to get her. Sometimes it seems like no one is on her side. She has been left by her father. Been told she's fat by her grandmother. Nothing she ever does pleases her mother. She has been cheated on and lied to by most past boyfriends...take that back. ALL past boyfriends. Older guys look at her with wondering eyes. Everyone tells her hello...but they also say goodbye.

She's finally tired of being told a handful of lies. She's tired of hearing the same ole goodbyes. She's tired of betrayal and constant hurt feelings. She's tires of thinking she's not good enough for the sexiest guy to be with. She's tired of meaningless "I love you"s. She's tired of these damn trust issues.

I Am My Mother's Child

I continue to laugh when a joke is far from over
At night, I sleep with my head under the cover
When bad things happen I go into denial
Yes, I am my mother's child

My hands shake when I'm nervous
God Almighty, High and Righteous
Is probably disappointed of my lifestyle
Yes, I am my mother's child

When I walk, I wobble
When I talk, I tend to stumble
Sometimes I like to wear my hair wild
Yes, I am my mother's child

When I love, I love hard
I like quotes on Hallmark cards
I hate hot sauce and love mild
Yes, I am my mother's child

If There Was Another Me

If there was another me
I would walk, and hold her hand
Let her know, I understand
"Can I get through life?", "Yes you can!"

If there was another me
I would be her shoulder she can cry on
She'll come to me, so I can shed light on
Tough situations that are going on

If there was another me,I would tell her
"Yes, it'll be hectic", I'll tell her
"But, you can do this", I will say
"You're going to get through this"
"Go get it, you got this"

The Heart Thief

Like a rock it was hard
Yet fragile and delicate
It was able to be broken
She gave it to him and he loved it

He cared for it, he held it
He caressed it at night
He listened to it, he understood it
Gave it wings to take flight

He kissed it
Hugged it everyday
Promised to never hurt it
And to love it always

But then one day
Another one came

Catching his attention
He dropped the old one and ran away
He kicked it, he bruised it
Just left it in the rain

She picked it up
With tears in her eyes
She held it in her hands
Felt the pain deep inside

Who is she?
Well she is me
Who is he?
He's the heart thief

And the heart thief...
He stole my heart from me

That Feeling

Its warm
Its soft
Easy to hold
So great, you can't let go

It swirls around your body
Takes control of you
It feels so good
You can't make a move

You can feel it through your fingertips
You get a tingling sensation
It feels so nice
Its your final salvation

You want it all the time
Because it feels so right
First thing in the morning
Last thing at night

It doesn't last long
But you enjoy it
I doesn't happen everyday
But you want it

Because of You

We were in love, you were my ev’rything
Our love was strong, it was unbreakable
We thought we were gold based off us shining
Us together was another level

Yes we did glitter, but we weren’t gold
Loving someone when you are young is hard
You pitched me lies and sadly I was sold
You has a deck and I pulled the wrong card

You hurt me constantly but I am strong
I let you go for my own sanity
I held on for what it seems like too long
Once I let go, I found my clarity

I depended on you for happiness
I see, now, when I’m with you, I’m lifeless

Someone Like Me

Today is Today
Tomorrow is Tomorrow
No laughter, or joy
Just pain and sorrow

Stare into space
And see nothing but hate
Then come to realize
You're stuck just like paste

Look at my smile
It seems so real
But underneath my beauty
I'm filled with fear

Today is Today
Tomorrow is Tomorrow
No laughter, or joy
Just pain and sorrow

I don't know what to do
Don't know where to go
No place to run to
Let my true feelings show

No one to talk to
No one understands
No one knows what it feels like
To be who I am

Today is Today
Tomorrow is Tomorrow
No laughter, or joy
Just pain and sorrow

Semi-Perfect Song

Headphones on and volume all the way up. She uses music to escape the world. The beat of the music is the beat of her heart. The rhythm is loud and disorganized. All of her feelings harmonize semi-perfectly to form a dismantled melody. She wraps herself around the lyrics and she becomes the song. Only problem is... no one is listening.

Over

Staring at the clock
Watching the time go by
You sneak into my mind
I remember the first time we said hi

I start to think about your eyes
And then your slightly crooked smile
I do this every night
Asking myself if I should dial

I imagine the conversation
What we could possibly say
I try to muster up the courage
To get this out of the way

I don't want to sit in bed
And cry all night long
Sick and tired of thinking about
The numerous things that went wrong

I lay down
And a single thought begins to hover
I finally realize
The word "us" is truly over

The Last Slice

She can't think straight and she doesn't know what she's doing
She's tired of watching the needles of the clock keep moving
Time is running out and she wants to throw up her hands
"Without a doubt", she says, "Today it all ends"
Sharp and ready, she has her blade
Her parents aren't home, she has it made
She rolls up her sleeves, and says "Tonight is the night"
The blade cuts deep in her skin, that was the last slice
