As a child
I saw the world
a painted perfection
with rainbows, flowers
and butterflies
seeing only bright colors
and living in sunshine
When the adult
grew into those eyes
I saw no perfection
only that which
painted the world gray
leaving the child inside
to die in the night

Is love to you,
a game played by two.
Could you trust,
if you wanted to.
Or do you just play
and tear them apart.
Piece by Piece,heart by heart.
What is Love to you,
or in your eyes,
not real at all.
Could you for a moment,
give without taking.
Share your heart,
at the risk of it breaking.
Take the chance,without breaking away.
What is Love to you,
maybe a chance to have faith.
Trust someone other than yourself.
Given truly, your heart to someone else.

How could you do it
I'll never understand
Maybe I'm naive
Maybe I'm not meant to know
How you could hurt
something as pure as snow
She didn't know, why you did this
She didn't know, why you hurt her
She didn't know, what made you tick
She only knew, that she needed you
She only felt, unconditional love for you
She only wanted, you
How could you do it
I'll never understand
How could you hurt her so
