The Prose Solicits the Person

Fairy Tales and as you wishes have warped my mind
Cause with you I have come to find
Like Icarus to the sun, and Annabel Lee to the sea
There's something about your smile that compels me
Like a moth to the flame
I long to whisper your name
So let the Sirens sing their song
And I will blithely hum along
But as I slip my little black dress on
I wonder could this be a lasting bond
Or like Eleonora in The Valley of the Many-Colored Grass
Am I destined to fall on my ass
Unfortunately, that last sentiment can not matter
Because as everyone knows, it's all about the happily ever after

Stay With Me

Did you know, that you hold
My heart, in the palm of your hand
And when I lay me down
It's to you, I pray my soul keeps
So darlin', would you stay with me

Would you stay, this way
Wrapped up, right here in my arms
For forever and a day
Cause I need you that way
Never knew, I could feel this much
So darlin', would you stay with me

You got walls, that's ok
I'll spend my lifetime chipping away
From now until when, you can let me come in
I'd gladly wait, on the dark side of the moon
So darlin', would you stay with me

If I wrote it all down
Would you come around
If I could sing it, without going off key
Tell me darlin, would you stay with me

Would you stay, this way
Wrapped up, right here in my arms
For forever and a day
Cause I need you that way
Never knew, I could feel this much
So darlin', would you stay with me

But if you go
You should know
With you, is where I'm meant to be
There's no valley too low
Nor river that wide
Screw the mountains, that seem to reach for the sky
So darlin', would you stay with me

Please darlin', would you stay with me

Soulmate

If you would ask, I would say
I need you more every day
Cause you shine the light, on the darkest parts of my soul
Without you, I'm out of control
You keep the demons at bay
With you I can slay, any dragons or windmills that get in our path
You're my high-ground to stand
A safe place to land
The perfect shelter, through any storm
You don't save me from the world
You save the world from me
Cause baby, you're the better side of me

The Reaction Considers the Impulse

The Reaction Considers the Impulse

Not at first glance has my heart ever been set a quiver
Never for the most skilled touch has my soul deign to shiver
Coming undone was not part of the plan
How could I entrust so much to just one man
The idea of being the moon to someone's setting sun
Didn't strike me as being much fun
But Cher said, and so shall it be
I was lost on the day his lips found me
As surely as breaths mingle, our lives will intertwine
Until the day I am undeniably his, and he is truly mine

The Trouble With Subtle

Every now and again
When I forget to pretend
That I don't want to be more than just your friend
I can't help but hate
The way that you think
She is the woman of your dreams
Cause normally it's me
Who can't see the forest for the trees
But this time it's you, that's been deaf, dumb, and blind
Missing every cosmic sign
And I've grown weary
Which has forced me to pose this query
Would it be enough to change your mind
If I said this was our place in time
So with nothing but hope
I penned you this note
And if the answer is yes, I'll be at our spot until nine
Yet if you say no
I promise I'll go
However, allowing me to slip through your fingers
Is the worst of all zingers
Please be wiser than he
In Indiana Jones three
And my cup, will runneth over thee
