Ebenezer Akinrinade Poem
Through the lonely jagged road
Beneath the shades of thorny trees
By the precipice of the mountain-top
Against the mighty winds and waters
Lead me, and I will go.
Away from the borders of my father land
To the dry, hot desert land
To a hut, a perched house, a tent
Among a people of unpopular culture
Lead me, and I will go.
With a melody in my heart
A Word of Truth for my mouth
Daily bread for me to feed
An Angel to take the lead
Lead me LORD, and I will go.

Ebenezer Akinrinade Poem
Who am I?
And, why am I here?
The questions in my heart keep
multiplying from time to time
I thought my parents would
have an answer
But unfortunately, not even my
mum or dad have a clue.
I spoke to my grandpa, and he
asked me to look in the mirror.
So I ran back home to have a
good look of myself
But the me in the mirror only
stare in my face and mimic my
gestures.
Of course, I saw a reflection of
me in the mirror
But it never said a word of it
own.
In fact, staring at him for that
long made me feel dumb and
dumber.
So I ran back to tell grandpa a
piece of my mind
And on getting there, they said
grandpa is gone.
He left without telling me the
answer that I seek.
Now, I must keep on searching
until...
Or should I return to that
mirror and look a bit longer?

Ebenezer Akinrinade Poem
"Nothing is found except it is hidden.
Nothing is hidden except it is a treasure."
In me is a talent waiting to be discovered;
The very gift that makes me priceless.
In me is a voice waiting to be heard,
Food for those whose mind hunger for
knowledge.
My little light is waiting to shine bright
Upon a world clouded with darkness and
confusion.
I am on a journey in search of me
On a quest to know the essence for my
being.
The search will never end until there's no
more hidden place.
The digging continues until the depth is
within reach.
With these eyes I shall look beyond the
obvious.
And with my ears listen beyond what is
spoken.
Though the road is unknown yet I will
venture
Better to die searching than to retreat
and live a lie.
My instinct and inner light shall guide me
My faith and hope shall sustain me
Until the hidden me is revealed for the
world to see
I will never give up on this search for the
priceless me.

Ebenezer Akinrinade Poem
This heart was once a bed of
roses
But now the flowers are
withered.
And no glue can mend it.
The morning dew will fall
aground
And the butterflies will die of
thirst
Because all the roses are gone.
This heart was once a wall of
defense
But now it is broken in pieces
No builder can rebuild it.
The ties that bounds is broken
And the center can no longer
hold
Sadly, things are fallen apart.
This heart was once the home
of smiles and beauty
But now overtaken by tears and
frowns
No makeups can change it.
The betrayal of a friend is so
hurting
And trust is a treasure now
missing
I doubt if love can happen
once again.

Ebenezer Akinrinade Poem
Someone touched me
And I didn't know it.
Again, he touched me
And I was awaken;
Awaken from a cold blooded sleep.
I foreknew this hand that touched me
But his face, so bright, I can't behold...
How could I not know whose hand it is?
This hand bruised and perforated,
With a touch so soft and gentle...
It's nothing like the touch of a mere man.
It was HIM who touched me
And yes!, it was his touch that woke me.
It was by his touch that I was rescued
Awaken from my slumbering bed
Where I laid and didn't know I was dead.
How would I have known
That I was long gone
On an untimely sojourn
To the place of no return
If not that he touched my soul?
But he didn't just touch me...
Right there on her knees
With tears on her cheeks
She prayed ceaselessly
On her child's lifeless body
Laid before the altar...
That child was me—
Already dead and deceased.
She knew he would hear her call.
She knew the power of his touch
For she had been touched once before
So she begged same for her son
Believing the mighty one will yield her voice
And breathe life back into mama's little one.
Her tearful cries were not in vein
Her son regained life once again.
And the great pains with which she came
Melted away at the mention of Jesus Name.
The one who came with her lifeless son calling
Returns home with dancing and joyful singing.
