My Little Sister

My little sister,
Kind and sweet,
The truest girl you will ever meet.
Strong and stubborn too,
But that's what I love about you.

You always speak your mind,
An honest person like you is rare to find.
Loving and Caring,
Adventurous and Daring

Yes, we have our moments,
The occasional blue.
There are times that we argue.
Over silly things,
Oh the drama it brings.

We're sisters after all,
what do you expect.
But we apologize and show respect,
We always make up and eventually budge.
Neither of us can keep a grudge.

We play fight and and poke,
We tease and we joke.

Now taller than me,
you laugh and think its funny,
You never let me live it down,
All I can do is complain and frown.

My little sister,
Now not so little anymore,
know that whenever you need me,
I'll be there for you.
If you ever struggle,
I'll help you get through.

Although you can take care of yourself too,
Know that I will always be there to protect you.
If ever you need me all you have to do is say,
And as fast as I can I'll be on my way.
My baby sister right from the start.
I love you with all of my heart.

Betrayal, Heartache and Silent, Wasted Tears

There is no point in naming those in blame,
Even though your heart may be in pain.
But do not let them think they have won,
Though the damage is already done.
Stand up to them, no time to slack,
And watch out for the two-faced ones hiding behind your back.

As the line between friend and foe becomes thinner,
Who can you trust?
To know the difference you must.
Watch out for their deceiving crust.
As their disguise will soon rust.

Hurtful lies seep through the cracks,
A poker face your foe lacks.
As slowly you uncover the truth to their lies,
You think to yourself, why oh why?

These silent tears, wasted tears,
Betrayal comes and heartache follows.
Hidden truths fueling sorrows.

Broken promises,
Stolen secrets,
And shattered hearts.
Turning friends into foes playing fasle parts.

Everybody knows friends come and go,
But when betrayal strikes you will know.
As your heart is the first to cop the blow,
You must be ready.
Gossip spreads fast,
Hold your head up a bit higher, because it does not last.

These silent tears, wasted tears,
Betrayal comes and heartache follows.
Stolen secrets fueling sorrows.
Always remember to watch out for their deceiving crust,
their lies and unforgiving cruel lust.
Their disguises have finally begun to rust.

My Big Sister

You're my big sister you always keep me in line,
You cheer me up when I don't feel fine.
Though you may not be able to tell,
Growing up you were my role model,
Awesome as hell.

If i fell down and scraped my knee,
You'd be there saying it's alright don't worry.
And sure I annoyed you lots its true, I still do,
But really i just love spending time with you.

We don't always see eye to eye,
Sometimes we've made eachother cry.
I'm sorry I hate when we fight it's true,
I don't enjoy hurting you.

I remember playing together as kids playing dolls or climbing a tree.
Some of the things we did were crazy now i see.

Time flies when your having fun, but the next chapter of your life has only just begun now that you are twenty one.

Yes you may think this is super cheesy,
But let me tell you writing poems isn't easy.

No situation or person can ever tear us apart,
You're my big sister and I love you with all my heart.

A Soldier's Nightmare

It’s late at night,
And yet again it’s time to fight.
Fight for our families and fight for freedom,
To fight for right, is that a good enough reason?

To kill so many said to be our rival,
We did it for our own survival.
Unsure if it was a selfish act,
Now the nightmares come crawling back.

Nightmares of soldiers, planes and gunfire too,
Explosions, fires, and barb wires be thankful it’s not you.
And in time our grandchildren will tell us,
War, it’s wasteful and ridiculous.
We will never live a normal life again,
Until this war has come to an end.
And even then, who knows when?

My Dad

My Dad means the world to me,
A life without him I cannot see.

He taught me to be brave,
He taught me to be strong.
He taught me to behave,
And taught me right from wrong.

He is my protector,
He fights away my fears.
He comes running when I scream,
He saves the day and stops my tears.
And lets me know its just a dream.

He loves to joke,
He loves to tease.
He thinks he is a funny bloke,
I say oh ha ha please.
With loads of sarcasm, not always fair,
Then I shoot him an awfully large glare.
He laughs it off without a care.

We do not always see eye to eye,
This is true.
Sometimes even we argue.
But it does not last forever,
Family can never stay mad.
We still love each other,
He is still my Dad.

He is my Camping and Fishing buddy,
He somehow knows when things are bad.
He helps when I study,
And makes me laugh when I am sad.

He is sometimes embarrassing,
Always on queue.
But I wouldn't change a thing,
Dad I love you.

The All Nighter's Guilt

Tick tock, tick tock,
I hear the seconds hand of the clock,
As frustrating as writer's block.
I can't seem to write a word,
I gaze out the window, oh look a bird!

The deadline is near,
I fill with fear.
I have put this off for too long,
I do it every time, its so wrong,
so much distraction,
i must take action.

I wish to rest my head,
but there is no time for bed,
I suddenly get an idea,
do I still have enough time? oh dear.

I quickly begin to type and scrawl,
will I make it? I may bawl,
A bead of sweat drips down my face,
against the clock, I race.

To my surprise,
the sun begins to rise,
It took all my might,
but i finished by morning light,
I submit and i sigh,
another assessment comes by.
Left till the last day again,
why must i put myself through this pain.

My stomach begins to churn.
I guess i'll never learn,
one is done, its over its through,
now it is time for round two.

A Painful Goodbye

At first I could not cry,
The shock was so severe.
I can't believe we lost you,
A friend held so dear.

I did not know you for long,
But it felt like years.
Now I sit alone it sinks in,
I cannot stop the tears.
To hear this tragic news about you,
Was one of my biggest fears.
I always hoped you would be back,
But reality has hit me with a smack.

You were a great friend with a huge heart,
Though we lived oceans apart.

You always did your best,
And now you are at rest.
Fun, happy, kind and true,
I will never forget you.
Though my heart may not fully mend.
Rest In Peace my dear friend.

The World's 4 Seasons

Summer is an amazing time,
With sunny, sandy beaches,
Where you could make a funny rhyme,
With warm and stunning features.

Autumn is a pretty quiet time,
With leaves so brown and gold,
The view is just so beautiful, that it really never gets old,
Its just as they say,
Yet sadly it can never stay.

Winter is a cold and gloomy time,
With snow so white and trees so grey,
When all the children are unhappy, being kept inside all day,
But I know it will be okay, because spring is on its way.

Spring is a loud and colourful time,
When the flowers bloom, and the birds chime,
So you could sit out back with a lemon and lime,
Or you could read this poem again for another time.

Get Well Soon

You may be run down,
You may be blue.
But that won't stop you,
From being you.

Although you're ill,
You have incredible will.
So take a break and have a rest,
Till you are feeling your best.

Get plenty of sleep, sleep past noon,
Till you are strong.
It doesn't matter how long,
All I hope is that you get well soon.

My Mum

My mum means everything to me,
she is many things you see.

She is my mentor,
As she guides me on the right path.
She is also my best friend,
She always makes me laugh.

She is my hero,
As she always saves my day.
She will rescue me from trouble,
Then send me on my way.

She can be stern to,
Strong, stubborn and true.
But only to help benifit me,
She fills my heart with glee.

But most of all she is a caring, loving mother,
This i promise is true.
A replacement there can be no other,
As special as you.
I love you, and I am proud too.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
