What Is a Name

Is it simply a title or does it define?
Does it influence who or what we become?
Is it God's will for us to carry our chosen name?
Does it have a special purpose of meaning?
Does our surname truly give us status?
A name can bring you torment .
Should a name be given much thought?
Should the name you carry be of your own choice?
Be from your own mind and of your own imagination?
Must it carry a stereotype?
Is a name really necessary?
Could we be identified any other way?
Why call it a name?
This is something I have recently pondered.

Duration of Existence

Life is a storybook waiting to unfold,
Revealing details of every nature as it goes along.
Starting out with crisp new pages, ready to behold.
Building on the story it starts to take shape,.
The crisp pages are now a little worn.
\Chapter after chapter memories are made.
The unforeseen is unanticipated,
People go and pass.
The worn pages are slightly tattered.
Nothing to hold you back.
Time to have fun with no delays.
Escapades tear the tattered pages.
Some things are forgotten,
Now nearer to the conclusion.
Not a great deal to make known.
Patience is lost while keeping the pages together.
Simply tossed aside, occasionally visited,
Eventually disposed of for it no longer has life.
