Follow My Footsteps

Poem: “Follow my footsteps”
By Serwah Adwoa Tei.

Follow my footsteps, oh dear John, though your feet are smaller than mine.
You might be small or tender in age, but your inspiration is so divine.
Don’t get lost in the stormy times, I am as huge to see in the sun.
Our laughter, tears and talks just might be lots of fun.
I long for your warm embrace, so delightful, please bring me a rose.
It doesn’t matter how long the walk, as long as we talk and are close.
The gap between us might be huge, but you seem to cover me all day long.
As it rains, I see the rain drops, lift my eyes up, and still hear your song.
Take my steps, as I have taken yours, no need to worry.
I’ve made all your mistakes along the way, dear john, no need to say sorry.
Hope distance doesn’t keep us apart, as we are molded together.
May this sweet union, take us through any weather.
You don’t have to worry, as your feet will always fit in mine.

Sunflowers

‘sunflowers”

Minutes away from my basket, hope it fills up this time.
Don’t have a token , but I’ll flip a dozen with a smile.
I hope the rumors around don’t hinder my chances, willing to run the mile.
I like to seek the meek, rockers, the poor, and shoes of all sizes.
I love you all, you are my all in all, hope to see you at the mall.
Last fall, I flipped a shining coin, honey, I hope I catch a golden coin like yours.
Please Aunt Pam, don’t whip me this time I just might bring a pile.
Minutes before my alarm clock rang, I awoke to smell the dew of the morning.
Minutes away from my basket, Aunt Pam, I just might be your sunshine.
