Patrick Nigros Poem
A 'little lie' never
stands alone it is
anchored by many
great lies
the freedom a little
lie promises is the
existance of a
unicorn-a mystery
The only short way out a
little lie point is but a
teenagers fantacy of a
perfect man-a lie
Why lie?

Patrick Nigros Poem
the rainbow is out now,
I saw it this morning on my way to school
the rainbow our heroes of old died fighting for
died believing for
died praying for
died hoping for
it is out now, I see it in that school bus painted Black and White and Indian by its passengers
I see it, you can see it too mother just open your eyes and sight beyond the obvious
see it in that black child eating a samosa over there
oh the beauty of its splendored colors.
I see it, you can see it too brother just open your eyes and see beyond the nose:
see it over that white soul walking the streets of Soweto freely
I see it, its splendor like a flower garden in the sky
I see it on that public toilet with no inscription: “whites only”
I see it: you can see it too father in the faces of the so called “born frees”
I see it in the tongue of that Indian man speaking Zulu
see it too buddy? On that black dude sharing a rugby field
i see the rainbow wonderfully engineered by the selfless life of
Nelson Mandela
Walter Sisulu
Ahmed Kathreda
more like painted stars in the sky but only in the skins of a people-a rainbow natio

Patrick Nigros Poem
we never said anything as the Goliath of good swept our heritage.
No! We never said anything
we never said anything as the twentieth century spirit cremate the hearts
of the good and the kind alike
we never said anything
Keeping tight reign over our tongues we watched
-watched as the innocence of our children grilled by the flames of hell itself
we never said anything
we tried but before we could utter the pleasure of gratifying self-played us like violins and
so we watched, silently we watched and silently we never said anything
We watched as the loving hearts of the old and the young alike corrupted by hatred
we never said anything-
silently we watched as the saints’ compromise truth
we never said anything as evil takes victory over good-lies over truth-immorality over justice
silently like the statue of liberty we chose to watch
Words of truth-words of God not failing us but we chose to watch-
watch as the pure wisdom of the old drained into endless drains
NO we never said anything-we watched thinking it nothing more than just swag;-style

Patrick Nigros Poem
His love sheltered me in my highs
his grace reached me in my lows
his kindness showered me in my ups
his compassion picked me up in my downs
his goodness warmed me in my hills
his mercy called me in my valleys
through my
highs and lows
ups and downs
hills and valley
he is GOD
I will taste the sweetness of my highs in my lows
(smile in my tears)
I will smell the aroma of my hills in valleys
(joy in my sorrows)
I will kiss the smooth lips of my ups In my downs
(success in my failures)
HE IS THE GOD OF THE HILLS AND THE VALLEYS
(1KINGS20:28)

Patrick Nigros Poem
I dont go to him when i need fixing,
i mantain the relationship for he is
not a toolbox
I go to him when i am
Happy
Sad
Down
Up
For i dont make him my toolbox
I seek him 24/7-365-in season-out
of season
He is my God not a toolbox

Patrick Nigros Poem
Freedom is free
He bribed his way to the top
Bribed his way to the pinnacle of his dreams
visions,passion, prayers
he silenced the voice of justice by the treasure in his pocket
he bought the words out of those standing for truth-
they tried to utter but words failed them
he made of no effect the words of the enlightened
by the gold mine in his bank account
but here he stands now
with every success life can kiss ones palm with
he stands boasting to bribe out of his way one last mountain:- freedom from guilt
now he stands, but hustling to bribe the voice from the dark gently whispering; Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!
Now finally he stands confused-hoping to bribe his way to freedom from self-condemnation
Light shines in his darkened understanding;
then he realizes:
inner-freedom is free but who can buy it?

Patrick Nigros Poem
he drank from my cup, my cup of affliction
he drank from my cup, my cup of suffering
he drank from my cup, my cup of death
he drank from my cup, my cup of sin
he was made sin but known not it's path
he drank from my cup
he drank from my cup, the cup of curses
filled to the brim
he drank from my cup, the cup of affliction
prepared in sin
sprinkled with condemnation
sweetened with bitterness
spiced with evil all mixed to the brim
he took it and drank from it, leaving
me nothing of my deserve
he drank from my cup and left non for me
he drank the shame
he drank the death
he drank the curse
he drank the affliction
he drank the torment
he emptied my cup
he drank from my cup and cried out father if it is possible take this cup away from me, yet not my wil lbe done
he drank from my cup
he drank from my cup and cried out father why have you forsaken me
he drank from my cup
HE IS JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD

Patrick Nigros Poem
You are your words
You are your sight
You are your hearing
You are your thoughts
You are all this and your action-
reaction to it
