Kenya My Pride

We are kenyan superstars,
That is what we are,
Kenya our mother land and pride,
Shines so bright that it cannot fade,
Today we hear,`Kenyan athletes bring home,
Bronze,Silver and Gold,'
Tomorrow,``The Kenya Rugby 7's defeat New zealand again.''

The Maasai culture came up with the Akala sandals,
Which are made out of rubber,
The luhya introduced Bull fighting,
The Kalenjin made `mursik' or fermented milk,
And to name but a few communities,
With their diverse cultures.
I believe that kenyans were born great,
To grow up and achieve greatness.

To become one of the most formidable
Intellects of our time,
Just like the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta,Dedan Kimathi,
Tom Mboya,Kijana Wamalwa to name but a few,
To change people's reasoning conclusively,
And make them see reality and not building castle's in the air.

Kenyans were born great,
Because greatness was thrust upon them,
To change Africa's impoverished state,
And make it a better place,
For you and for me and the entire human race,
To raise heroes and heroines,
To conquer social evils in the society.

If we were born great,
Let us believe in ourselves,
Be contented with whatever we do in our lives,
Let us love one another, live in unity and work
together as a nation,
Let the past be a stepping stone for us to succeed in future,
And leave the rest, to the Almighty God.

Fat Girl

Fat girl the one people love to hate,
the one everyone wants to have a look in her plate,
as she walks towards her deserted corner table,
in the school cafeteria,
where she found it a bit comfortable,
consoling herself with fried chicken,
since she lacked a criteria of being mean

Fat girl stands next to fatter people to look thin,
can walk past an ice cream vendor and gain a few pounds,
without being apologetic of how many gallons,
her stomach could handle at once,
she lost weight but nobody cared to notice,
fat girl thinks she's ugly,
because the world makes fun of her daily,
fat girl don't you worry,
come to Africa where the word 'fat' is a different story,
a place where booty is respected and appreciated,
as it is a trait in our heritage not artificial but naturally created
Big is beauty,original is splendid,
talk of class, elegance sand style she is a goddess of different trades
Big is beauty, with love from africa Sandra K

Love Is

Love is a passionate feeling,
Which comes with a special healing,
If this feeling is true, you will see that sparkle in your loved ones eyes,
And it will be you against the world,
You against all odds.

Love is like the sun,
Shinning in a sunless garden,
Which makes dead flowers blossom,
It is like a campfire,at first a pretty flame,
Then becomes hot and fierce, but still light and flickering.

Love is like a tragedy,
Unavoidable,a lot of tears shed,
Since the pain pierces the heart,
To an unknown depth,
Leading the soul to bleed.

If music could be the food of love,
I would let it play on,
Letting its soothing traits relax my troubled heart,
My soul dance to its tune,
And sing like nobody's listening.

Awakened Soul

Days seem long and the nights so cold,
The cloudless skies tells it all,
Of how her spirit felt lost and all alone,
And her feelings out of control,
As she remembered her first encounter with her prince charming.

She remembered when their eyes met,
Their hearts felt as if an electric plug had shot in them,
Her smile knocked him off his feet while his charm turned her on,
Her lonely days were now gone,
The rest was history yet to be told.

Her prince charming is now back again her life,
Because it was never the right time for both of them to part ways,
As the famous Hawaiian band played their songs,
The long enticing beats awoke feelings that they never felt before,
With its soothing traits bringing them their hearts together.

Swaying their hips side by side letting their groove get into their shoes,
As the air is filled with laughter, joy and pleasure,
'Oh what a beautiful day indeed,'she whispered into his ear
Let's dance as though we will never dance again,
Dance the night away and get lost in our own world of fantasy,
As we watch the sunset and listen to the music slowly fading away.

Beauty Is Temporary

Beauty without grace is like
Fish far displaced from water
And watching it die right there
Is like living in a world with no air

It is that flame
That burns within them
That bonfire they never want to see end
If seen beyond the eyes view

A flower's beauty is so much satisfying when picked
And its sweet fragrance captivates thirst
Within love - seeking hearts
Like that of a seductive touch
Not even the finest piece of art or photograph could capture
It's beauty under the scorching sun
From a thorn comes a rose
And from a rose comes a thorn
But when beauty soon fades
It remains a mere bit of finery to be thrown aside

Describing Beauty

If i were to describe beauty,
Could I describe it as what lies in the beholder's eyes?
Could it be,that beautiful flower,
Among the thorny bushes called `The Rose'?

Could you be that special angel
sent from above?
Well i have always been waiting for you,
Wondering when you will turn up,
Who will bring me sunshine in the rain,
Who will take away my bad days.

I thank God that i finally found you,
Because without you,
I would be alone in the cold and lost,
And my heart would lose its trust,
To the essence of love,
Never to embrace the one i loved again.

Like a lesson,
You gave me a reason to learn,
To learn how to give a chance,
Instead of judging by glance
If i were to fly,
I would join the eagles,
And fly to greater heights,
To be with you,
Because it is what i delight.

I have a reason to love,
To love because it feels right,
To embrace and trust,
Because my heart feels light,
To smile because i can never learn to hide.

In the Nick of Time

In the nick of time,
I closed my eyes and when i opened,
You were already mine,
I wonder why i took time to realise,
That i would have fallen into your arms,
Even before i thought of singing you a love song,
Because when my mouth said 'No'
My heart screamt 'Yes'

I have fallen head over heels for you,
As you showed me which hands to shake,
And which one to hold,
Which love glitters bt isn't gold,
Which mistakes to correct and faults to ignore,
You are a modest gentleman,
My sunshine in this lifetime

Being Me

Iam dream chaser,
Trying to cope with my endevous,
Rushing here and there,
To catch up with the world's changing trends.

I listen to music,
To free my mind off the misery and troubles in life,
Its rhythm makes me get to my feet,
Letting the groove get into my shoes,
And dance the night away,
Like the Hawaiian dancers of the caribbean.

I don't need to do big things,
So that i may be noticed,
It is the little things one does,
That makes you earn respect,
Integrity and admiration from people around you,
Though we all came from the same place,
Money and fame made us change places,
Because we chose not to be who we are.

Day after day i will continue to be me,
That is all i can be,
Even when i will be making headlines in Tv,
The best things in life being free,
One of them being myself,
Doesn't need any effort,
As you are not mimicing anybody,
In this lifetime,
Just be yourself.

Beauty Is Innate

Beauty is innate

I have not a soft spot for you nowadays,
When dust fast approaches and sets in night,
Not a memory of your super than suede skin tone lingers,
Not the softness from your ointment still arouses
My sense.

See beauty without grace
Is like
Fish far displaced from water,
And watching it die right there,
With minimal capacity to revive its existence.

See beauty is without pretense,
It dwells in utmost reverence.
And cultivated in patience it grows,
Not to what to the bare eye appeals,
But what the heart desires.
It is that flame
That burns within few.
And gradually it grows to a bonfire,
That one seldom yearns for its end.

A flowers beauty is so much satisfying when picked;
Its sweet fragrance only heightens thirsts,
Just as fast as a seductive touch,
Within love-seeking hearts.

Not even the finest piece of art or photography,
Could capture a flowers beauty,
As divine as it is when its hand held
But its beauty soon fades
To remain but a mere bit of finery to be pushed aside.

Friend

It still remains a mystery,
To me, believing that we were meant to be,
I traveled distant miles across the hills, valleys & seas,
Never to regret what i had achieved.

To draw a distant smile,
A smile as bright as sunrise
And as arousing as the moonlight,
That brought our hearts together
In the blink of an eye.

How blissful i was,
To finally meet you friend,
Though along the way we may be prone to misunderstandings
Let's try to tame our hearts not to be like the wild ones but to grow fonder.

If you let me be part of you i will be all that you need,
Even when time comes for us to part our ways
And our lives change in whatever way, weep not because i left,
But smile because all this happened & the best things in life being free you had me.
