A Day On the Lake

Early in the morning
With a cup of coffee in hand,
I head out back to the old boat
Awaiting my command.

As I untie the rope
Excitement rushes over me,
For across the water,in the distance
The morning glow of sunrise I see.

The day is just perfect
I can't wait to get out there,
And feel the sun upon my face
And breathe in ther calming air.

The water is sparkling like diamonds
As they shimmer , glitter, and prance,
Oh, this lake is so beautiful
Doing it's early morning dance.

It's going to be a good day
Already I can tell,
I will be out here sailing
Until I hear the evening bell.

Then I will head for home
Today will be a memory,
But I will never forget
The pleasure the lake gave to me.

Thanks American Soldier

Please allow me to speak for Wives,Husbands, Moms, Dads, Children, And
Grandparents, (For America)

Thanks American Soldier

Thanks for stepping up to the task
In enemy territory and being so brave,
You're putting your lives on the line
For our country and freedom to save.

You represent our finest, our very best
You are soldiers of whom we are proud,
We want you to hear the word ,"Thank You",
As we shout it out, and shout it loud.

Thank you for filling the gap
Doing what we could not do ,
Words are just not enough to show
How grateful we are to you.,....

My Photo Album

I was browsing through the bookcase
In search of a book to read,
When I happened upon an album
That caught my eye - interesting indeed.

I began to turn the pages
As I watched my life unfurl,
Here was a lifetime of memories
Of my mothers baby girl.

Here I am a sleeping newborn
Dressed in pink and white,
With a baby cap to match
That appears to be a bit too tight.

As I turned another page I saw
Mom rocking me in her chair,
She looked radiant and contented
I can see the love in her face so fair.

Next a picture by the school bus door.
I was wearing such a silly dress,
I can't believe mom let me wear it
That was the style back then I guess.

A Special Day! Ah yes , here we are
Standing by the car, headed for the prom,
I was all gussied up
So was my date, Blushing Tom.

This is me on my wedding day
Mom is at my side, with that look in her eye,
Knowing her, she was choking back the tears
trying so hard not to cry.

I'm so glad I happened upon the album
I cans see mom's love shining bright as can be,
My heart swelled with love and pride for mom
Looking at the pictures taken of me.t

My Dearest Daughter

As a little girI watched you
Run, skip, jump and prance,
As a young lady , I stood by
As you struggled,, learning to dance.

Teenage years passed, too soon they were gone
As a young woman you wore radiant glow,
I was so pleased with you my darling
I beamed with pride for I loved you so.

Today you have taken wings
and exceeded my expectations by far,
I couldn't be happier or prouder
Of who you became, I love who you are

I love you Mom

The Smile

I was taking my daily
walk down the street,
I felt so troubled and sad
I could barely move my feet.

I was just about to take the turn
around the corner and finish my mile,
when I spotted and aged somewhat crippled man
trudging along , but wearing the greatest smile,

It didn't seem to matter to him
how long it took him to get where he wanted to go,
He just kept on moving
even though his steps were very slow.

He made me realize my sadness and sorrow
was so small, nothing to compare
with the pain he must feel daily
if he wants to get t out and go anywhere.

I lifted my head up higher
and stepped up my pace,
I threw my shoulders back
I too, put a smile upon my face.
