Her Sorrow, Her Pain

She cries to God,
Begging for her life.
Wanting a chance to make things right.

She calls to him.
Asking for another try,
Wanting someone to love.

She calls to her,
Asking her to care,
Wanting to feel the love that a daughter should from her mother.

She begs him,
To have a say in her life.
To know what's going on,
To feel the love that she should from her father.

She begs her brother,
To stop causing so many fights,
To be good for once.

She cries to God,
To give her a chance,
To save another's life

There For Me

You were there for me,
You set me free.
Free from all the pain.
Free from all the shame.
When you left me there,
All I could do was stare,
As you walked into the night.

You left,
You were right.
Right that I would feel this way,
You were right when you said I would cry,
But you were wrong.

Wrong in more ways than one.
So here I am today,
Not telling you to stay.
But saying thank you,
Thanks for all the pain,
They way you put my name to shame.
You took everything I had,
And turned it where it seemed bad.
But here I am today,
Not living the wrong way.
Me defenses are up,
So I don't get hurt,
They way you hurt me that day.
