Empty Heart

Found this poem I wrote in my
freshman year in high school
(2006)

Why does my heart beat
I am alone upon this earth
No one to love me
No one to hold
No one to touch
No one to call my own
This feeling in my heart
A hole I can't fill
Everything I touch, driven away
So here I am
In solitude I lay
On this lonely, lonely valentines
day

Space

Space The final frontier The final destination Empty and alone It stretches on Why do we seek it Why do we care Perhaps, it's the human condition To help what we can not To go where we haven't To see more then we ever have To share the unshareable Perhaps if we reach out to that empty expanse We can pull it in We can fill it with love We can fill it with humanity Maybe that is our purpose Maybe that is our longing Maybe that is our destiny

Misery

Before you read this poem, I would like to state a few things. First off, I am not suicidal. I
have never tried to end my life, nor do I plan on trying to end my life. I grew up in a house
where my parents argued, and screamed on a daily basis, sometimes well into the morning
hours of the day. There were days where I slept outside in a sleeping bag because it felt safer
then my own bed. For those of you who are parents, or want to become parents, i would
like to let you know that there is more then one way to abuse and neglect your children.
Words can have the an impact on your children far greater then any blow or punishment ever
could.Since this poem was written 5 years ago, I have moved away from that horrible house;
however, some things can not so easily be forgotten.

Misery Hopeless, crushing, darkness, despair You know not what pain your words inflict The poison noise that pierces the soul Day in and out Over and over Never ending Why do i deserve such torment Is death the only escape from this waking hell I'm bound to this, not with chains but with fear An inescapable prison The only shelter, my pen and paper. My friends through which happiness seep into this wasteland To hope for peace that will not come. I close my eyes I wish away this hatred and violence but it will not flee Do i have the strength? Can i make it on my own? Can i break free and fly Or will fear keep me bound in shackles and chains Till sweet death is the only release.

The Mind and the Heart

The mind and the heart are two complex things One speaks in logic while the other just sings But here I sit at the dawn of this day Wondering which of mine to listen to and obey My mind says I'm losing her and she won't return But in my heart for her I strongly yearn I don't know what to do or even what I should say Can I go back or do I beg her to stay These feelings inside they scare me to hell They ring around through me just like a big bell They resonate, duplicate and fill me to the top Till all I can do is grab my head and shout stop But I think it matters not at the end of the day I know I must return to her anyway These feelings I have they are ooh so strong It seems they will go on for a very very long (time) And if she should want me to stay away I think then instead for the rest of my days I will think of her and of what she has done She has taught me that she is the only one I just hope to god that what we had hasn't gone For I would scour the earth until it was found And if she might find it in her heart to take me back I want to be with her and never look back.

Sickness

Raging inside me, as if I inhaled the sun I can fell it burning my body Distorting my mind No matter how much I drink, I am always thirsty My body rejects all help I lay here waiting for my torment to end Through it all, a vision of an angel Though I can not see her face I know she is here to save me

Nightmare

This nightmare haunts a vivid mind
And stalks it till the end of time
These dreams of fear and darkness true
The devil hath bestowed to you

To take desire and twist it 'round
'Til screams and terror are the [only] sound
Though when you wake and all seems fine
They linger in your haunted mind

These dreams of terror speak the words
They show us what we fear
And with their twisted horrid lies
They bring you to your tears

But if you try and listen
You may find out what they mean
These dreams of flesh and cursed mind
Are not quite what they seem

Though fear by night and truth by day
These wretched dreams do stay
I beckon thee dear sandman
Please make them go away

Passion

Passion (Poem)
His lovers embrace,
Her sweet caress
Echoing through his body
He brushes her skin
The soft touch of temptation
Driving him
Pulling him
Together as one under the
moon
The lovers arrive
The final wave comes
Through the night they ride
Enveloping themselves
Pleasure,
Extacy,
Love,
Passion.

The Storm of Life

The ocean
Still as glass, it stretches to the horizon
Off in the distance, sprays of white shatter the blue illusion
A storm is coming
Clouds of anger, clouds of fury
Shouting at the heavens with a thunderous voice
A gust of wind blows through the trees.
The first drops of rain begin to fall
All around, the day gives way to the darkness
The darkness and the chaos
Animals scurry for shelter
They run, they hide
The storm comes for them, it comes for us all
The storm is always there
Lurking in the shadows
Watching, waiting, listening
With its many faces
Looking for the moment to strike
The storm of anger
The storm of fury
The storm of jealousy
The storm of greed
The storm of hate
The storm of violence
The storms we hide from
But, through the darkness there is always light
The storm of passion
The storm of kindness
The storm of charity
The storm of forgiveness
The storm of hope
The storm of love
The storms through which we live our lives
The storms we breathe, feel, touch and carry
Together as a whole, they come to make
The storm of life

Ocean

Ocean (Poem)
Pressure Depth
Darkness Solitude
Beauty Life
In the blue expanse life goes on
Oblivious to the world above
Indifferent to war and grief
Where the only rule is survive
To find beauty, you needn't
look far
For it swims all around
In all shapes and forms
Through the light and the dark
The fountain of life
Surrounding us all
And waiting for our return
