Upon a Pale White Horse

A man in his field,
Whose heart rumbles fast,
To fear he shall yield,
The echoes of his past,

Of a life he stole,
The innocence he killed,
Deep in his soul,
No longer concealed.

As a sound of thunder,
 Vibrates the ground,
He’s lost in wonder,
At this mysterious sound.

But as the thunder nears,
He knows its course,
Now a vision he hears,
That robed figure upon a pale white horse.

Flowing in the wind,
Is this vision of Death,
Who’s face bears no skin,
And breaths not a breath.

In it’s bony hand,
It wields a scythe,
This soul forever dammed,
Has come for a life.

Grasping a book,
That reads one name,
And the life he took,
Bearing the finger of blame.

It is Death who’s come,
For that lost soul,
It can’t be undone,
There is only one goal.

He tries to hide,
But cannot escape,
Though the fields are wide,
They match his fate,

Death now arrives,
At his final dwelling,
Watching the cries,
Of his silent yelling,

It takes the life,
Of a soul evil tainted,
With that razor scythe,
 Now maroon painted.

Upon the horse he’s tossed,
Without screams or kicks,
Now Death carries him off,
To the river of Styx.

So when thunder does fall,
With that figure you see,
Run or stand tall,
You still can’t flee.

In time it resides,
Feeling no remorse,
It is Death who rides,
Upon the pale white horse.

A Midnight Dream-Song

Midnight dreams/
Fill my mind/
With those memories/
Lost in time/
How you held me tight/
When I felt alone/
In slumbering night/
These things are shown/
Hand in hand/
How real you seem/
As we share this dance/
Through a midnight dream/

-Chorus-

In a midnight dream/
I’m never alone/
You’re here with me/
Happy at home/
But day breaks the dawn/
And you can’t be seen/
 there you’ve gone/
With a midnight dream/

-End Chorus-

This house is so empty/
Without you around/
I wonder if you can see/
If you’re looking down/
Did you know I loved you/
And every night I pray/
My dreams will come true/
And this time you’ll stay/
Missing you so much/
I’m coming apart at the seams/
I’ll long for your touch/
Until my midnight dreams/

-Chorus-

Cause in a midnight dream/
You touch my face/
And all this pain seems/
To be erased/
But day breaks the dawn/
And you can’t be seen/
 there you’ve gone/
With a midnight dream/

-End Chorus-

Livin’ in my mind/
Back when we were strong/
Wanting back those times/
Before you were gone/
Cause these old eyes/
Can’t see anymore/
Through tears I’ve cried/
Waiting by that door/
But my prayers will come true/
Tonight it seems/
I’ll be leaving with you/
In a midnight dream/

-Chorus-

In a midnight dream/
Your hand in mine/
Forever we will be/
Lost in those times/
And as day breaks the dawn/
I won’t be seen/
I’m finally gone/
With a midnight dream/

-End-

The Stranger I Always Knew

Never knowing the man/
On the other line/
Never able to understand/
You leavin’ me behind/

But I’ve seen your picture/
I know your voice/
So what made you sure/
You had to make that choice/

Did I cause you anger/
Please give me a clue/
 Now you’re a stranger/
I always knew/

-Chorus-

the stranger I always knew/
Calls once in a while/
Father its true/
I never learned to smile/

It’s gettin’ harder and harder/
Listening to you/
And talking to this stranger/
I always knew/

-End Chorus-

You’ve missed so much/
In the years gone by/
 My high school crush/
The day she said goodbye/

All the winning games/
Fathers cheering loud/
But you never came/
Were never in the crowd/

And the phone rings later/
It was always you/
Hello to the stranger/
I always knew/

-Chorus-

The stranger I always knew/
Always too late/
Father it’s true/
You taught me how to hate/

It’s gettin’ harder and harder/
Keepin’ my cool/
Talking to this stranger/
I always knew/

-End chorus-

Now the day has come/
To finally meet/
This is your grandson/
Isn’t he sweet/

He has your name/
But we call him Gabe/
It’s even spelled the same/
Like it is on your grave/

This is a picture/
He made it for you/
Goodbye to the stranger/
 He always knew/

-Chorus-

The stranger I always knew/
And the life you lived/
Father its true/
You taught me to forgive/

It’s getting harder and harder/
Saying to you/
Goodbye to the stranger/
I always knew/

The stranger I always knew……

-End-

An Angel Lost

Through Prayers I’ve yelled,
The remembrance of your love,
Where once I dwelled,
In the heavens above,

But flesh I chose,
To pay my cost,
Living among those,
As Angel lost.

No longer can I fly,
Free from pain,
But still you try,
To ease my shame,

My wings are clipped,
In this world I’m tossed,
Powers are stripped,
From this angel lost,

But these angel eyes still kiss.
The souls who pray,
As I sit here and miss,
My home so far away.

A Midnight Dream

Midnight dreams-
fill my mind-
with those fantasies-
through endless time.
As a dream keeps sight-
of things unknown-
in slumbering night-
these things are shown.
Open doors-
in mid-air it seems,
soundless shores-
through midnight dreams.
Hours race by,
but time unaware,
where we live and die-
can't reach me there.
The darkness thrives-
to let the memories gleam-
it all resides-
within a midnight dream.
