The Silken Web

You have spun a careful web of lies.
Lying in disguise.
It’s made smooth as silk,
sparkling before my very eyes.

You whispered to me, spoke my name,
enticing me to follow.
Luring me into the silken web.
Its tendrils of soft silk, wrapping around me.
Caressing me into its self.

You wound it tight and warm around me.
Then I could not breathe.
Little did I know there would be no way out.
This web of lies you have woven,
cannot be undone.

The Hands of Pain

My soul pounds with rage.
This heart has been scorched,
by your burning words.

My soul gasps for light
slowly suffocated,
By your hands of pain.

I bare the mark of shame.
Your touch has maimed my body.
My mind drowned out my screams.

Blow by blow,
Shamed so low.
Never did you know how,
Your hands of pain marked me.

The Unknown Soldier

I stand at your grave.
I do not know your name.
I know not where you are from.
Where you fought,
nor where you died.

The horrors and pain you suffered,
were not in vain.
The death and destruction brought you pain.

I weep at your grave,
for the life you gave.
I weep for the Mother,
that gave you that life.

I kneel before your grave.
I bow my head in gratitude to you,
The Unknown Soldier.
Forever Remembered.

Grandma

I was your first born grandchild, the first grandchild to know you.
40 years of time passed before I was born.
You gave life to six children, built a home for your family to grow.
Your children embarked on their own life journeys.
They went in many directions, spread from one coast to another.
But always drawn back to that, Sugar Shack.
40 years passed. I was born.
I spent my time with you grandma, learning all the things little girls should.
I remember the music, oh the music!
You played your piano, and I was awed.
I have never forgotten sitting with you on your piano bench.
The calm, the music, the pages of music turning.
Your fingers floating over the piano keys like magic.
Nor have I forgotten the stories passed on, letting me learn my heritage.
You told me where I get my love of horses from. To follow my dream, to work at the racetrack,
Encouraging me to follow it through.
You knew what path I wanted to follow - thank you for believing.
I remember the years with a smile, with tears in my eyes.
 The laughter, summer vacations.
Those years will never be forgotten, but held close to my heart.
Grandma, only 40 years has passed since I was born.
I thank you for every one of those years!

Three Sisters

The first born sister was delivered by a bear, the master of the forest.
Bestowed upon her by this master, was the spirit of courage and strength.
Through legends and time, she learned many lessons of old, these helped to make her heart strong.

She grew from a girl to a young woman with a soul old and wise.
But her heart still was not whole.
She was drawn to walk in the forest, where she thought she might find answers.
Alone that night in the forest, she looked up towards Father Sky. She summoned her courage and asked Him where she must go to become whole?
Father Sky smiled, down on the First Sister, stars made bright by his delight, at the sight of the First Sister’s courage.
He gave unto her a vision in the stars.
Father Sky then lit the skies ablaze with stars showing her Regulus, The Little King , Leo the lion prowled the stars.
Then He showed her the Goddess of Justice and Truth, Astraea.

A goddess from the stars, Astraea brought forward a Second Sister in line.
Tipping her scales, full of dust from all things magic Astraea bequeathed the
Second Sister with a heart full of justice and determination.
This sister was streaked with light, her gypsy heart ready for any adventure.
The road of adventure glittered, calling her into the forest.
She looked above to the heavens and saw the stardust of Regulus,
mesmerized by what she seen shimmering in the night sky she followed the path.

A Third sister was born, bound to the Second Sister, by Leo the Lion.
Although fair she was entrusted with the heart of the lion, the sign of the Leo.
With pride she grew, loyal and caring for all those on her path and all in her past.
Following the trail, she walked into the forest that night, guided by the lights of the Little King.
She stayed steady and true along the trail,
where the first and second sister had gone before her.
The girl ahead streaked in light did not give her a fright,
nor did she fear the roar of the spirit of the bear.
She heard Father Sky call unto her to follow the dust of the stars to that meeting place.

As these three sisters made their journeys along the pathway, each guided by Father Sky, they came into a circle of light. They could each see themselves in one another, brought together by the lights of Regulus the Little King.

Cowgirl Up

Rise at first light.
This cowgirl enters up to ride this day.
She dawns her hat, for this is not any day.

Ready to pay her dues.
The sun will beat down,
hot and hard is how she'll ride.

Cowgirl up!
Into the shoot we go.
The blood pumping, muscles quivering.
Ready to go!

The gate slams open.
Off we go!
 My mustang and me,
to round that first barrel.

Away we go!
Rounding our second barrel.
Sweat trickling.

Thundering down to that third barrel.
We round that barrel,
the dust will follow.

With a war cry,
We head down the long path home.
Followed by cheers and jeers,
she crosses the line!
Cowgirl is up and paid her dues.

Gypsy King

Glorious are the days we ride, my love.
You and I riding in the morning light.
Passions racing hearts are thundering.
Sunrise explodes pink and purple streaks across the sky.
You and I smiling, riding together in the first light.

Kindred spirits racing together chasing the morning star.
Intoxicated on the morning air.
Nowhere, but here in this moment.
Glorious is the day we ride.

Freedom Uprise

We will not ride alone on this momentous journey.
We will ride gathering our numbers, from the great mountains.
We will travel to the valley of rivers, towards the great ocean.
For we have a great army.

Those who enslaved us with their power, stand on the top of the hill.
They stare down over the army below.
An army of vengeance we have gathered.
We will ride to the battle field at the great buildings.

Our intent is to wage war.
Fear will not take us.
You are weak supremacy, you will die by the sword.
You will die by the hand of my fellow warriors.

This is war.
Blood will be spilt.
Men will draw their last breaths as they fall back onto mother earth.
Mother Earth will soak up the spilled blood of our brothers and sisters.

We will be fierce and haste not.
We the suppressed will not retreat.
We the people will rise, with swords and fists.
We are ready to die for what is equitably ours.

This is not an illusion.
The fight against the money mongers, the powers that be.
Those that hold the power, will feel our angry wrath.
None will go unscathed.

We will watch the blood spill in and about the great buildings.
Down the concrete stairs it will flow, rich, deep cherry red.
Into the green of the grass, it flows.
Fear will choke your breath.

Reflections of your past, rushing before you.
Thoughts of the dead, invade your mind.
Hollow is the cry of war, as we charge ahead to fight the battle.
To take the final stand, to give it our all.

Justice will reign by the sword and the all mighty hand.
Judgement day has arrived with this great army gathered beside us.
We will ride, steadfast into the fray.
Make no mistake this day will come upon the powers that be.

The Green River

She slips from the sleeping ice.
Green, fresh, free to flow
through the great fjord.
Past the blue mountains.

She glides smoothly
over the rocks with glee,
covering them with her cool touch.
Tall evergreens cheer her on.
Waving as she courses down her chosen path,
carrying life.

All the while never tiring!
Surging forward to join the others like her.
This vast journey ,
will not end till she reaches
The Great Shores.

Her journey is joyful.
Touching all on her banks,
leaving the gift of life in her wake.
