Politico

POLITICO
There’s a rain of gold
And I’m the ray of that hope
My vatic come to pass
And good fortune comes to us
Did I not talk to the gods?
Did I not listen to their words?
The debacle of my enemies cometh
Like a deluge and blitz together
But I’ll live for a long time
For I’ve touched nobody’s dime
Only legless allegations
By spineless alligators
Were it not for the forces of darkness
The poor would have stumbled on riches
Not just beggars with wishes
Beggars saddled and trotting away on their horses
I have a dream, not to lie side by side with predators
Rather to talk one on one with my creator
To take your prayers and tithe to the inner sanctum
To receive your baskets and treasures in God’s name
This is a valiant’s palate of bitter herbs
One day those of garb the royal robes
About me with golden ring
Then you’ll know I’m a supernatural being
Has not my prophesy come true?
That false prophets will come to you
Ranting about a new leader
I am an adept mind reader
And I see the scriptures of the evil one
In whoever denies that I’m not the one

Time

TIME
Yes I’m an old dog
But I’ll still get a bite at the bone
The day did find me down
But there’s yet a majestic dawn
That of the morning worms
And of the early birds

Yes I’m late for the banquet
But it’s still until a fortnight
The king may be a little angry
But he must understand I am hungry
Waste therefore not my time
I’ll be late fot the wine

I here laughter and meeting of glasses
It must be the liquor and evil dances
Now I know I’ve missed a thing or two
Please tell me that is not true?
Oh, the pleasures of the king’s imagination
Made real by his hand’s orchestration

Have they got to the main course?
I’m sure some villain will turn it into a racecourse
But ventre a terre upon his heels
Before the first apple peels
And my seat close to the king’s
Before the dinner bell rings

Adios

ADIOS
Only footsteps I see into the distance
You have gone ahead of your brothers and sisters
Your friends and loved ones
You may not have favoured it early
And I needed an ally
But I trust his wisdom
Him who has welcomed you home
For all is a journey to greener fields
Not one will stay because he builds
Indeed I see it an honour
That he chose you not to ponder
The strife of this life’s time
So you see first peace and calm.
I’m on savages’ palms
But who knows when the saviour comes?
I know you’ll be by the gates golden
To receive me into the beautiful gardens
Where else can I call home,
But where good people like you come,
Come to for all eternity?
Oh, How I cherish the time
It was for me that prime
When you graced our lives
With your charming laughter
That, we’ll always remember
Your true friendship forever
For now farewell my friend
Till we meet at the road’s end

Not Another Tear

NOT ANOTHER TEAR
Not another tear
Is this love and care
This wanton ugliness and despair
Why God, must two go and pair
This wild sorcery of the heart
So I compare with the wild man at the market
The need for you is sin to me
Burning me from within completely
How again must I love thee?
Chasing after the wind, how it’s with thee
Another jewel again like you I’ll never find
Ah! Let it be so, the pain of you I don’t mind
If I slip into dreams leaving it behind
I am weary,tired,suspicious of love
If it’s only with you I shall have
Creative conniving whores have made that claim
You cannot blame, them that woe is come to claim
That play that game, that make angels cry in shame
You say it’s not the same, but you always play a game
Oh! It’s not the same, I feel the pain
And what to gain? that I be with you?
You to be with, that is never true
This fallacy of the chemistry of two
Now see what it has led me to!
Another tear oh never again
The last time was the last of my pain

That Ant

THAT ANT
That frangible small thing
Is it plausible poor thing?
To puddle, wade then die?
You labour without respite
Yet you never tire
For many days you built a hill
With the rest of your race you took to toil
But that turbid giant crushed it underfoot
Nothing daunted, in a spate, another was afoot
How obstinate is your optimism?
And how shallow depths your anger’s chasm!
Today I saw you struggle up that wall
Hard upon the unrelenting facade’s toll
Again and again like your life’s prize
Tumbling yet ever again but again to rise
Oh, how you stupefy even those wise
Not twice but again, and again twice
You moved a little to the right and again
And at once you scaled to the plain
And as you hurried away on the flat
I bid my guru of the hardest art

Now Iam Your Beloved

NOW I AM YOUR BELOVED?
An act of contempt is hard to forget
It’s to vilify one with its venom to act
Then it’s toward revenge that one is tempted to move
The bitterness it tethers one to is hard to remove
Just yesterday you exterminated, crushed my heart
But today, now I am your beloved?
That,
And that you’ve not imbibed vodka is an art
Trying to fool me, to bewitch me with your darkest art
I tell you, I shall not abide
No matter how your legs wide
Today I shall play the pristine priest
And inexorably deny the devil’s feast
Yesterday you may have been my beloved
But looking back, I think I may have been bewitched
And you too, If I am your beloved
And I wish you the same in that
In that luscious and of thorns a bed

                                               Bright Githui

Breakup

BREAK-UP
So it’s over
I feel nothing
All along I thought it was,
Something special,
But nothing?
So what was I afraid of?
The dark has come and gone
And I wasn’t even tough,
Just slept and woke up at noon
And you were gone!
I felt healthy, completely cured!
Of the malady, vagary, misery, vanity!
Yes, all gone!
Thank God!!
