Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
Alone in my room...
Bored and hungry
With no food to consume
I look at a corner...
A cricket
"Hello, Jimmy, it's an honour."
My room became his...
My new room-mate
My heart was filled wit bliss
Day 3, knocked off at five
Jimmy still in my room
"Come on, let's get you a wife."
I offered him to nature
Jimmy hopped with joy
Too bad I can't denature
It is a dangerous world
Lizard caught Jimmy...
I froze in angst as Jimmy twirled

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
Little sibling don't you weep
We'll be together again some day
Close your eyes;go to sleep
It'll all soon be o.k
The longing for you stabbed me deep
Very soon I'll be on your way...
For us to be together like the old golden days
Now don't you fear, don't you cry, wipe those tears off your face
I have th faith that everything will soon go back to place
Mama wants you to be an ace
Make her smile;prove the world that you're not a broken vase
Face the sky, worship God
He's our most devoted guard
United or apart we will forever be...
Part of our family
With our blood in pain
Together,we will surely stop this rain
And all of us will once again
Live in harmony in our torn domain
Aunt, mom, our cousins and dad
Always wanted us to have the life they never had
Their past was very sad
But they brought us up well, for that,we must be glad
Thou the family is torn apart
The hope for a better future will never leave my heart
Aunt always said:"The good day will come"
So let's be on the guard for the rise of that morning's sun.

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
A poet’s soul dwells in my
heart
Composing the perfect rondeau
for this forbidden love
From the profundity of his hurt
I can hear the refrain: “The
Heavens assent.”
I HAVE found my
cornerstone
This to me was unbeknown
For I have held her in my arms
Through my darkest nights of life
Many say she can’t be mine
‘Cause she is covered up with
grime
But when polished she does
shine
None shine brighter than her
heart.
They fill my mind with worldly
thoughts
To seek for silhouettes of a
model
Ones you, forever, have to coddle
Blinds you from seeing her inner
light
“A perfect wife who can
find?
She’s far more precious than
jewels”
Face and skin you shouldn't mind
Even cheap make up can cover.
Seek for the purest in
heart
Since only God alters
the heart of a lover.
So, dear poet, write your poem
Show her she’s my heart’s desire
My lover is mine, and I am
hers
She will bear the kids I sire
Hurt no more, we are home
Cause she’s the one who trully
cares.
I will hold her hand to forever
after
Enjoy every breath and every
laughter
Smile and feel the warmth of the
sun
“The Heavens assent.” She is the one...

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
I may not be able to explain it...
But its just the way I feel..
Feels so good yet scary....
Belly filled with butterflies and bees...
I saw the light at the end of the tunnel,
in it a silhouette of a Princess...
The face is blurry, But the shape I do educe.
A temptress she may be...but in this light I shall ingress,
She is the woman I am meant to choose.
I am in love, or is it lust?
Are my hormones and brain to blame?
I feel my heart bound to combust...
...in this liaison's flame.
For it is not good that the man should be alone;
That's why a best fitting helper was moulded.
Two are better than one, with her I'll build a home...
Where my love will be unfolded.
Therefore I tell you,
I will walk towards this light,
Her face will be visible to me.
I shall bend a knee with every step...
For whatever I ask in prayer will be MINE.

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
A sweet forbidden crush I have
I confess I do
From being faithful to a knave
Yet I don't blame you.
I'm a victim of emotions
Swirling like a bottle in the ocean's motions.
I close my eyes n see our moments.
So perfect they deserve no comments.
Wish I could live them again
But then doubt feasts on my brain.
How does she feel about me?
Are we sailing the same sea?
Will this emotion pass?
How long will this last?
I feel so warm inside
When I have you by my side.
I want to wash my hands
But can not find the right water
Should I step in this quicksand?
Or just jump it over?
I want to enter this labyrinth
Poisonous yet gorgeous like Hyacinth
She feels right for marriage.
And be my children's carriage.
So...
I will wait with the hopes that fate
shows me the right path to take
Till that day I ask the Almighty.
If I should "crush" to dust or eternity!

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
In the dark belly of this creature I reside
Working my way to find the light I heard of so much
My watch glows with the productive time I belied.
Oh dear University, you have numbed my poetic touch.
Soon I will be free from these books
Aye, I shall return again PoetrySoup
To join the best "PoetrySoup" cooks
And with all our might, in poetry lane, we will troop.

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
Christmas lights on every window i walk past!
wipe a tear off my eye as the cold breeze blows me dust!
walking with no destination in this silent night!
a couple walk by,hand in hand, while i listen to save tonight!
'lord i wish it wasn't so...
'so far from my family,my gal n my bro!
i stare at the ocean in motion!
waves hit the rocks composing a melody for me saying:'it shall pass...pass!
this loneliness wont last...last'
so i smile a little!
wish my heart was brittle,
so i could shatter it to pieces and break down into tears!
cos its been many years since i last cried!
i hope my eyes blear so when i open em,she'l be ere by my side!

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
Today I came across your picture, I almost shed a tear.
I faced the mirror, dug for resemblances of your features in my mixture.
There is no doubt you are my father
and I don't want to alter the design of our feather.
I am your son, from your loins I was made in your way.
Many clashes under the sun, but we never joined the fray.
As I slept, we laid adjoined, you held your baby every day.
But Time held the other side of the coin; from your hugs, I drifted away.
I know we not as close, and we barely express our love when we feel the urge to convey.
But you are my father, you are my mentor, every night, for me, you pray.
I imagine the good times life stole from us when I look into your tired eyes.
You still hold that beautiful smile, when you lift your head to the skies.
Age has caught up with you and you always repeat your life stories to me.
I show little interest because I am a slave to this pernicious phone and PC.
But I want to hear more, and you ask for me to visit often.
I feel bitter I barely show up. But your stories will not be forgotten.
I miss seeing you tear with joy when I come visit.
We shake hands because we forgot a hug and a kiss is our limit.
I pray to hug you longer before the breath of life leaves one of us.
With your presence, affection and wisdom my soul needs to be encompassed.
I do not hate you, I am not vexed with you, that is a plan I never wrought.
I feel that is what I manifest and that guilt left in me a vacant slot.
I just want to take this moment to reveal my inner thought.
I love you, I need you, and Father, I miss you A LOT.

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
I have walked many bumpy roads in life,
I ran into trials, obstacles and strife
As I celebrate this special day,
To my best adventure I have this to say:
Many prayers I have said,
Most of them seem unheard
But God works in mysterious ways,
And I learnt that it pays to pray.
He protected me when I struggled,
Gave me courage when I mumbled
His timing is perfect, that is His nature,
He answered my prayers through my best Adventure
My best adventure taught me Kindness,
Brighten my home with Humility,
Filled my sight with prudence,
And for this, I lift my head with dignity.
Though I am not yet the man I prayed to be,
I have faith this adventure will shape me.
And I could never be more thankful,
Believe me, this blessing is plentiful.
I will let my adventure lead the way,
See the world before my eyes surrender
Make the best of life before time flies away
Color, with memories, each day on my calendar.
Now, there is a proverb I will never disparage.
“There is no cure for love other than marriage”
That is why today I say to you as I bend a knee,
You are my best adventure; Will you marry me?
I composed this poem for my now fiancée on the day, with the help of our family and friends, I did a surprise proposal for her on my birthday dinner.

Stefanus Nuno Pereira Poem
When sins corrupt the mind, slowly devouring the candle of innocence...
The light of hope faints as the melting wax of immorality flows down to the heart...
Hardening the heart that once shunned evil...
The echo of its last beat sends shivers to the body,
Shivers that warn the body of this intruder,
This sin that wants to reach the soul...
In silence the body sits, waiting for the voice of deliverance....
But it never hears it...
The body weakens, the soul cries out in despair,
Shouting:"Do not give up, He will save you."
But the mind is ignorant and the heart is turned to stone...
If it listens a little longer...
The voice of deliverance does come though...
It becomes louder and clearer...
Then the mind starts to reconsider...
Only you can save yourself through the Father
Awake from your guilt and live the life you prayed to live
