Southern Sweetie

I know I'm a Southerner
and I think you'll agree,
When you hear my tale
of when I was three.

I found a can on the floor,
coffee it once held.
I peered inside,but
Lawd, that wasn't coffee I smelled!

My Maw was an icon
known far and wide.
Her cookin' was somethin'
made her heart swell with pride.

But, her secret
she held tight,
no one should ever know,
she put up a good fight.

She was like a donkey,
stubborn as a mule.
Now don't you be stupid,
Maw was nobody's fool.

So, now that Maw's gone,
this much I will share.
My Maw dipped snuff,
that was it, that's enough!

Which Will It Be

Which Will It Be?

I have arrived at a fork in the road.
To each path is a truth, unique to its own.
Many are the rewards discovered,
once they are shown.

The choice I made seemed so right at the time.
But, as I slow down and expand my dimension,
I see other roads that
may have deserved my attention.

On the one hand, the choice seems decidedly clear.
On the other, an excitement, as I seek a new frontier.
The unknown has always beckoned to me,
as it does for many, I'm sure you'll agree.

The search continues as I quietly
consider which path to choose.
The answer is clear,
I cannot lose.
