Rushing to some place
That doesn't include me

To stay sane

It all happened in a flash.
You came into my life,
turned my world upside down,
then left me in the dark.
You put me through hell,
I fought to make it back up
to the surface of reality.
I had to survive on my own.
I had to fight the demons away.
I had to strive for life.
Now you're back,
asking for me to forgive you.
Ha!
I grew into a stronger woman,
since you did what you did,
now I'm going to show you
what hell feels like,
cause baby, well...
you're worthless,
you're a nobody to me,
you're a novelty painting
in a run down dump.
You think that with your
cute crooked smile you will
"win me over"
but not this time.
I have conquered
you're spell,
you're charm,
you're game.
Now I run this show
and well...
you're no longer good enough.
so farewell,
ta-ta for now,
hope you feel the pain you put me through.

A glance over my computer screen, I see you starring.
You look away as soon as our eyes meet.
You wear that grin upon your face, which I love.
I can't help but blush.
No, you didn't not only catch me looking at you,
you caught me thinking about you.
You must be having the same thoughts.
Our eyes meet again,
but this time neither of us look away.
We just smile, ear to ear.
I say nothing but hold my stare,
finally you move.
I thought it was all over as you walked away...
A hand upon my shoulder,
tan and strong.
It's him, back again.
No, he did not leave me.
He chose to be closer to the twinkle in my eye.
From staring across the room,
to being with each other forever
one high school romance
bound to be more than any other
Now I get to hold his hand, stare into those deep blue eyes
And I get to call him mine.

Have you ever loved someone so much
that you would do anything in the world to be with them
but yet at the same time it seems like they don't
want to put forth the effort?
Just leaving you with empty promises
and broken words.
I always believed that everybody could change.
Right now... I don't think the love of my life
will ever change like he has promised me many times.
I want my baby to have both of his parents.
I want him to have both of his loving and caring parents
not just one that is willing to do it all.
My heart is breaking, my mind is racing, and I'm lost.
I'm not sure what to do, how to do it or if he will even listen.
Will he change for me?
Will he get mad and act like I'm in the wrong for wanting him to change?
Will he leave?
Will he listen?....

OK, so this isn't really something I wrote. It's a song by Lee Brice, and I love this song because it really relates to me in a lot of ways and I thought I'd share this with you all.

As I sit here looking out the window
I think about the dreams I've been having of you lately.
Honestly, I don't think I will ever be able to forget you.
You'll always have this place in my heart
No matter what I'm going to love you.
I hate it,
Regret it even
But my heart still believes there was something between us.
I know you don't care like I do
I know I'm care for still loving you
But true love is never forgotten
You will only ever be just a dream of mine
A dream that will never come true
A dream that will just play over again in my head
A dream that will eventually die along with my heart
Did you ever care?
Or was those just false feelings?
Feelings that I dreamed up?
...............you're just a dream.

You came out of nowhere
it was all just a blur
all that occured was
that i had this
deep love for you.
I was in the blue
then you came and
took it all away.
There's not much to say
but still to this day
I have that
deep love for you.
don't break my heart
and I won't break yours.
I'll cherish every moment,
hold you close, till I die away.
All for this
deep love for you.
With every thought I sigh
at the sky not only because

Sitting there thinking, looking back on your past. Remembering the good and bad memories. Some make you wonder what you where ever thinking and then some make you smile ear to ear just like you were that day and some you remember how happy you were and how much you miss that person but they were ripped from you and now you alone in the dark with nothing but memories.
As you sitting there reminiscing on all the times you've had you begin to wonder. Why did this happen? Why did this happen like this? Why me? Life is full of why's and if's. You just have to know what choice to make and how to answer life greatest questions. With every movement there's a purpose. With every tear there's a person causing it to fall. With every laugh there's someone there to share it with you.
When you're sitting there, do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you never met that person and had that moment? Sometimes life has a funny way of doing things. You may feel like sometimes its for the worst when really its for the best. Sometimes its just to have those memories to reminisce on when you're sitting there talking to your grandchilderen. Sometimes life is unexplainable. You live day by day, moment by moment, and you will never know what to expect.
Life is nothing but something to reminisce on. Whether it just happened now, a week ago, months ago, or many years ago. Each moment will always be there with you. When you sit there and reminisce on all the times you had make sure you cherish each one.

Alright so I know that this site is suppose to be all about poems. Well as much as I love writing poetry sometimes I like to just write about things on my mind. I also am aware that they have "blogger" sites, well I don't like those. I love this website simply because I know I can be myself and Know that people are going to be able to read and comment on how they feel or their suggestions to either a situation I am having or advice on something I need help on.
