Hope Not Lost

I stand on the edge of a great cavity of darkness.

The wind whispers at my ankles, urging, pulling.

Hollow voices call to me, I strain to hear their message.

Closer I feel myself inching towards the gaping blackness,
ears listening as voices echo below.

They call to me, chanting, haunting, making my head whirl
with madness.

Slowly I feel the darkness surround me, wanting to own me.

“Come” they whisper, “feel the darkness” their voices sing in my mind,
“join us with your sorrow”.

Shadows begin to engulf my spirit with hopeless words, words of despair.

Frantically I feel my soul clinging to existence as it dances within its death.

I peer over the edge of the opening that threatens my life.

A great wall of emotion grinds at my very being.

Words strike at me from all directions, slashing open wounds buried deep.

Something from inside me cries, praying for mercy, for help.

Faintly I hear something, someone.

One word softy pricks my heart, one word….HOPE.

To Heal a Broken Heart

Masked feelings entombed by a concrete blanket

Worthless self thoughts battleing each over the other or superiority

As lonliness inhabits my heart, its minions gravitate to each other growing in
number to glorify in winning the battle.

Lonely impending doom feed like a fire on a damp, chilled night.

As sadness creates a journey through my hardned heart, a horde of lost and buried
emotions cling like a homeless, lost vagabon begging for shelter from the raging storm.

Characteristics murdered, slaughtered in my eyes vie for a spot in my mind, longing to be remembered...

TRUST
HONESTY
RESPECT

My heart embraces them, but my mind holds a dagger primed to strike to defend a heart still weeping from past hurt.

Mind and heart move as one together at a slow, unsteady pace, hoping that forgiveness will come.

Love will be the stitching to piece a broken heart.
Time the binding that heals.

The Battle Within

A shadow falls upon my heart
compressed in a ribbon of emotion.

My mind begs for relief as my body fights
with and unknown foe.

A soul begins to war, drudging through the
sea of decaying memoirs.

As the Heaven and Hell embark a battle for
jurisdiction, my life battles to survive.

The pain of continual raging contention,
slowly, with even pace eroding away reality.

“Oh God” my mind cries out are you hearing
my pleas?

The emptiness of despair dripping like an
infection through my soul.

I beg for relief of this curse, this complete
feeling of abandonment.

A blanket of utter loneliness shrouds my mind,
my soul, my existence.

“Please my God” my spirit weeps. “Forgive me,
help me, make me whole.”

My faith is but a thinly drawn line,
a small amount of faith, a shadow of itself.

Faith that now begins to fade as if penned to an
old damaged parchment.

As the raging power between good and evil persists,
all that favors the one to the other is Love, Hope, Faith,
even though that line is a faded, depilated thin line.

Pain of Forgiving

Tears of a shattered heart, quietly slipping unheard to a cold pillow.

Why? The question ricochets through long suppressed pain.

The trust of love given freely, the trust that dangles by a whisper.

A mind willing to mesh the truth with a lie to spare a fragile heart.

As mind and soul begin the treacherous journey to forgive,

The heart forgives the mind proceeds at a pace held back by reality

Her Love

Eyes that twinkle, a heart beats at an
un-even pace.

The touch of a lovers words
sweetly caresses and tease her ears.

An embrace, two hearts held tightly
by the thick emotion of love.
