Uptheroad

Looking back,
Some weeds down the middle of the road
Footprints to one side or the other, few sideroads
I’ve Traveled far with little or no direction, yet always
Managed to lean toward logical wisdom
Found birds chirping and clouds dark threats few
I did not mind the rain nor the delightful rainbows
Was Never struck by lightning, nor folks reaction to my thoughts
I’ll be coming over the horizon an old man, remembering yesterday
Looking back, I can’t remember the weeds but remain sure-
What was just down the middle of the road……always ended up,
Tomorrow.

Isee

If love were a blind dumb beast,
gentle as flowers glow and whispers least
to live and bloom they wilt and go in passions feast
with all this beauty as flowers go
who to pick and how to know
give my heart then the smiles of spring
to enjoy the dance, the touch, the whole wonderful thing
for shadow could possibly bring,
tomorrows end and love bit sting
Yet always is this wish by me
find the flower, I dream to see…….

Thefact

Humanity-
Some say this, some say that, they analyze,
they predict, they slander, they lie
When reality sets, with the dawn,
what remains are the bones of thought that die
Is this all but entertainment for Destiny,
seed for the wealth that spends your youth till end
what percent of life do we not see
ignore, what truth do we bend
The puritans, innocent, the babies of unknowing,
walk honestly right up until tomorrow
‘tis then that the real World meets them,
the cost of actions, Love and that taste of true sorrow
Starvation, greed, cruelty, arrogance, ego driven self righteousness,
overwhelm faith and fear
War, humanitarianism, hate, fall the brave ,the timid in the shadows,
when Death is clear
The human race shall not give up,
nor shall we be defeated, we can be fooled and lied to
With our backs to a wall, there is no choice but to be Free,
“always“ there is someone that Knows what to do
It was then Man picked up the First Rock,
began building the Future and History, yesterday is past
What we do with our legacy, with all that is, that Future,
until the end of days if Humanity is to last…..
                            - Is ours to Change or Destroy…

Uncommon

To wallow upon the cool grass under the Willows shade
As puffs of cloud entertain my soul with illusions parade
I’ll give thee thought of love as if it were a swan upon a lake
In jest I considered living forever this notion I take
To be loyal to the mirrored image of myself in dreams fable
Lasting the night would be the wish of lovers, if able
We should hold each other tight in bead of sweat and smile
Waiting dawn in satisfaction hoping our time would take awhile
Yet tomorrow comes as we would so dread
To wonder if it was not a cloud we imagined, in our head…

Ifnotforyou

I write of these things to dream or wish upon,…of only my belief
the ink dries the tears of yesterdays, simple joy or grief

‘tis of beast or beauty, love or distain
of many fulfilled, or broken days, to cleanse my soul like rain

Please wipe away that ego I’ll give away the thought
just read with open mind, believe, as fantasy always taught

not everything is of our past, of love, nor truth to word
just my feelings and things never spoken, that you may never heard

oh God I do, I think of you, that my heart will never rest
please let me love you as I do, is all that I request….

Close your eyes put down the book and sip your cup of tea
They are only words in dried cracked ink and what they mean to me…

-ontheotherhand-

As if I had a choice, to wish
The world would change my mind
Fate is second hand
As hateful is to kind

Guessing that I love you
My heart would ask me why
Passion is second hand
As truthful is to lie

Around and round time will pass
All lovers learn to cry
forever being second hand
as living is to die……

Onlylater

Finding the nights short…the redundant kind
For the same dreams skid through your mind

I haste call to your soul ‘tis love !
Giving only an ego, not a heart the shove

Not so easy to convey a thought
Today was the perfect day destiny sought

Though I let go in regret, let slip by this perfect day
I can only begin again to believe, “it” will come back my way…

Oh… to be fooled by times abundant unending feel
You wake finding it was youth, tomorrow’s steal

My hand extends to the promising dawn
While waiting for perfections moment………you’ll yawn…

And let slip away…….true love.

Sweettears

She is so beautiful when she cries
Gentle tears bled from love
You can feel it in your soul, this angel
Upon my heart I feel the breath of God
Thankful to know such sweet passion
As I humble my resistance to compassion
and love her even more……

Seasonsfall

The winds blew and whistled to me
I’m changing the leaves, orange, red, and yellow, you see
I’ll freeze all with a chilling gust
So dream your desire of Spring as you lust
Of flowers that bloom all colors to be
‘tis a whisper of passion telling the wind for me
I’m waiting a smile and a lover to dance
As Spring offers all, love is the chance
We hear in the wind a sweet song through the trees
There is a smile on her lips, sing the birds and the bees….
I’ll wait for the thaw and winter to end
Bringing life to the seed and all God will send….

Whereigonext

I do so wonder where I’d go, tomorrow
Bumping into walls in the dark or over horizons
that journey long from the crawl as a babe
to my dusty shoes that show time passed
I’ve kicked the can and awakened anew
Cried from Deaths joke upon ideals of forever
And yet I can say of creation, Love was the breath
That gave life to my soul as I fished from the banks of
Rivers I’d crossed and never starved from love, nor hunger
Where do I go next, I’d hope forever, satisfied.
