Uptheroad

Looking back, Some weeds down the middle of the road Footprints to one side or the other, few sideroads I’ve Traveled far with little or no direction, yet always Managed to lean toward logical wisdom Found birds chirping and clouds dark threats few I did not mind the rain nor the delightful rainbows Was Never struck by lightning, nor folks reaction to my thoughts I’ll be coming over the horizon an old man, remembering yesterday Looking back, I can’t remember the weeds but remain sure- What was just down the middle of the road……always ended up, Tomorrow.

I love this! My poetry is oftentimes dark and depressing. This has a serene feel to it that actually motivates me. I tend to focus on yesterdays instead of focusing on todays and tomorrows. The line "Was never struck by lightning, nor folks reaction to my thoughts" gives me some hope and lets me see the light in my darkness a little better, because I'm always stressing over being understood or misunderstood. Again, great poem. The message I received from it is valuable. Thank you for sharing. :)
