Grounded

I slip and stumble.
Down from above I tumble.
Yes, I hear you rumble.
Left alone I wander and bumble.
My faith I fumble.
My "foundation" starting to crumble.
On my knees, you've left me humble.

I was closed minded and wrong.
I found no place I could belong.
My mind and body were well and strong.
To notice my soul, took way to long.

I've contacted no place of worship.
Nor found a religion considered "hip".
I've not gotten under any one denominations grip.
My mind cautions of their gilded lip.
Is it my soul they would save, or my wallet they would strip.
I will avoid the drivel lest i slip.

I might be a bit confused.
I feel my soul and mother nature fuse.
With your presence i'm infused.
Even if "messing" with me keeps you amused.
Maybe just slightly bemused.

Desensitized

I sit stunned in silence.
At these images of horror, nature, and violence.
Unable to move as if in a trance.
I see if not total acceptance.
Then what I deem as TOO MUCH tolerance.
I along with the masses wait for the next tragic instance.

1,000 reported missing or dead.
With a slight smile and a toss of the head.
This is how the tragic news is read.
That this is "the norm" the swill we've been fed.

Each hour thousands will suffer...........and inevitability.
That this news will be delivered by a perky face.........a certainty.
5-min after its heard it becomes a memory casuality.
Sad more thought was given for the fall of a nations presidental morality.
To get to us all a tremendous ability.

How do we escape this travesty.
You alone hold the key.
For my fellow man can you not see.
Simply get up and turn off the T.V.
I urge you to allow your soul to be free.
You will breathe better almost instantly.
The blame lies on one entity.
The "MEDIA" is the root of our present calamity.

Once

Once...............
My life was sane.
Now from those memories I refrain.
Not because I feel any distain.
Not because I feel any pain.
Not because I feel any strain.
But Because........
I STILL REMAIN.

Once.................
My life was serenity.
Now I turn from this enmity.
Not because I feel any anamosity.
Not because I feel any hostility.
Not because of any fraility.
But because.............
I WILL NOT BE A CASUALITY.

Once......................
My life was convenient.
Now I turn from the sentiment.
Not because I feel any attachment.
Not because I feel any resentment.
Not because I feel any abandonment.
Not because I am done with the arguement.
But because............
I WANT CONTENTMENT.

The me that was has disappeared.
When the mist has finally cleared.
I see where I must have veered.
But here I am alive.............
And only a little seered.

Love

Love is pain?
Couldn't be, what would be the gain?

Love is attitude.
Just adjust to fit your mood.
Not what you say, but what you elude.
Some out there are pros at the ability to delude.

Love is compassion?
Yes, but only if its in fashion.
It's the latest trend around the nation.

Love is trust.
This a definate must.
More important than simple lust.

Love is a lie.
I could name a thousand reasons why.
Most of them you have lived, so i won't try.
Just my findings by the by.
