Derek Graham Poem
god bless her
my old nan,
she's blind as a bat
and 91,
she has a dog called
winni the wisp,
he's got no teeth
and barks with a lisp,
they both cant see me
when i'm there,
my nan the dog they
have no hair,
hey nan i'm going
to make us some tea,
she passed the remote
for the tv,
no nan i'm making a brew,
a nice cup of tea
for me and you.
she's sat there talking
to the settee,
laughing and joking
while i make the tea.
the dog is barking
at the floor,
he thinks he's sat
at the front door.
whats wrong with
the dog nan,
he's looking sad,
dont worry dear he's
going mad.
what with nan
and winni the same,
both barking mad
and totally insane,
i'm going home nan
its time to go,
as she struggles
to reach the floor.
from the settee
to the door,
its about 9foot 4,
ive been waiting
an hour she aint
reached the door.
the dogs gone in
the opposite way,
looking for nan
what can i say,
god bless them both
i'm on my way.

Derek Graham Poem
FOR TINY PEOPLE
AND WHAT THEY KNOW,
THEY NEVER EVER NEED TO GROW,
THEIR MORE INTELIGENT
THAN YOU OR ME,
EVEN FROM THE AGE OF 3.
YOUR PARENTS SAY
HE;S BEEN HERE BEFORE,
AS HE;S WRITING AN ESSAY
ON YOUR DOOR,
BUT THEN YOU REALIZE
HE;S ONLY A KID,
AS HE;S WALKING IN NAPPIES
THAT COST YOU 8 QUID.
BUT THEN HE GETS UP
TO ANSWER THE PHONE,
HE;S ALREADY AGREED, TO A MORTGAGE
RELOAN,
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
YOU NAUGHTY BOY,
AS YOU GO FLYING
AS YOU SLIP ON HIS TOY.
WHEN YOU GET UP
HE;S NO WHERE TO BE SEEN,
HE;S HALF WAY INTO THE WASHING MACHINE,
YOU PULL HIM OUT AND TELL HIM NO,
AS HE DROPS THE IRON ON YOUR TOE.
HE SITS THERE LAUGHING
YOU KNOW HOW THEY DO,
AS HE STARTS GOING RED
ITS A NUMBER 2,
HE STARTS GETTING RATTY
AS YOU CHANGE HIS NAPPY,
GIVE HIM TEN DUMMIES
THAT;LL KEEP HIM HAPPY.
YOU WOULDNT BELEIVE
THEY COULD PRODUCE
SUCH A SMELL, YOU START
TO BELEIVE ITS THE BABY
FROM HELL,
BUT THEN ITS TIME
FOR THERE TEN MINUTE SLEEP,
YOU WISH IT WAS MORE
YOUR RUSHED OFF YOUR FEET.
THEY LOOK LIKE ANGELS
AS THEY LAY,GOD I DREAD
THE REST OF THE DAY,
BUT ALL SAID AND DONE,
THEIR YOUR NUMBER ONE,
TIME TO REFLECT WHERE
DO THEY COME FROM.

Derek Graham Poem
The white blanket of snow covers your life,
it hides the world of your yesterdays,
it makes everything look new,
let it fall over you.
a white capped mountain,
a white silvery forest,
your memories of yesterdays on each laden branch,
the forest of your dreams glistening diamonds of white.
the glistening diamonds fall from above,
each one a memory of what you should,
some are dreams of what you could,
the white white blanket of a new way.
the day will come when it melts away,
to turn your life a dullish gray,
but the silvery forest of your memories and dreams,
will carry you through for the next white snow flakes to fall over you

Derek Graham Poem
come here son
iv'e something to say,
to keep you right
along the way,
its about the way
that we make love,
kind of like, putting
on a new glove,
come on dad i know
what you mean,
got the t-shirt
been in the scene,
what do you mean
youve gone all the way,
of course i have
and i didnt have to pay,
when i was young, as
young as you,
i just about knew
how too tie my shoe,
we only dreamt
of going all the way,
the way i looked
then i would have
had to pay.
how old is she
and where did you do it,
you mucky sod
you could have blew it,
come on dad
iv'e done it before,
i did it on your bedroom floor.
i dont believe
it was in this house,
i could hear a bloody mouse,
but after all is said
and done,thats my
boy dont tell
your mum,

Derek Graham Poem
why are we blind
when we see no wrong,
what are we seeing
when we see no wrong,
why are we dying
when we all belong.
the world is bleeding
yet we let it bleed,
the world is crying
yet we hear no screams,
the world is slowly dying
we all bleed.
why cant we hear what she says,
why cant we see what she says,
why cant we feel what she says,
we ain't bothered what she says,
she just lets us be.
