The Poem

Stars blaze the night
While a pen of tears
Smears words across,
A white sheet of fears

Letting out your soul
To breathe a verse
Something you seek
No need to rehearse

A powerful statement
The thoughts from within
A time taking pain
Once you finally begin

A constant word play
Descriptive and woven
The purest of feelings
Are the ones you’ve chosen

To write and recite
Put down in words
Because balls of paper
Will never be heard.

Regrets

All alone in the dark
I hear ghastly screaming
Unaware if it’s in here
I pray I’m only dreaming

Fumbling with the light
I quickly look to see
The skeletons in my closet
Are staring back at me

I can hear their pain
A faint hollow sound
Affraid they’ll never fade
And decide to stay around

Back to haunt my life
I can’t escape their hate
Another sleepless night
Spent dwelling on my fate
